musicIO on Windows 10

Hi. Does anyone here use Windows 10 and MusicIO. I've used MusicIO successfully in the past but can't get it to work now and I'm wondering if Windows 10 is the problem.

  • I'm one of the developers for this -- I've got things running on W10 (the main Windows development machine was updated to this recently). Which DAW are you using?

Ableton Live 9.6. Everything seems legit but my iPad and computer aren't finding each other.

  • Do you have loopmidi installed? You need it for it to run. Ran through this issue recently. Could be it.

  • If they're not finding each other -- you'll need iTunes installed, and on some machines, a network firewall gets in the way. Eliminating a USB hub has also fixed connectivity issues for some folks.

  • Thanks for the help y'all. I have iTunes installed as well as loopmidi. Not using a usb hub. I checked the firewall earlier and Ableton isn't blocked. Seems like a mystery.

I'm on 8.1, but I had to temporarily disable the Windows firewall completely, even though none of the stuff was blocked, to get it working (then just enabled it again). Dunno what exactly it did, but got the advice from one of the co-developers on MusicIO (He's done MidiDesigner etc, can't remember the name now)

I have just discovered that I can use my iPad apps to control my music apps on my PC. Windows 10.
I installed bonjour and Rtpmidi. ....that's all there was to it.
Now using soundprism to play kontakt5

Just tried that firewall trick but it didn't help me. I really want to figure his out!

  • @raindro -- can you drop us an email at [email protected] -- we can help track down the trouble there. Info on the Windows version, DAW, and a screen-shot of the VST would help diagnose what's going on (the bottom part of the VST display has a ton of info for us).

  • Cool, will do. Thank you!

  • Hey, guys! Does this software still works on Win 10, x64? I’m searching for workaround how to connect my phone with synths into Daw without using external interface.
