That's the way the market-economy works...
It's a true art-form to be able create demand for a product no one ever knew they needed
PT Barnum?
I think so. Either headphone makers will step up with wireless (going to happen), and at the very least there's a boom in new small and portable external DACs since now we NEED one. I think it beenfits both the casual user, and those of us who need good sound quality for making music on the go.
I personally didn't think the built in headphone out was that bad in my iPhone 6, but my S846's are balanced armiture and don't take much juice to drive properly. A DAC definitely makes a difference, but I didn't think it was terrible having to just use the built in jack too. Oh well, times change.
iOS has an acceptable audio lag. Android used by much more people than iOS has an unacceptable audio lag compared to iOS. Seems most people don't care. I assume this will be the same for most iOS consumers, they don't care. Only a small group of people care (for example musicians). This is not the mass market. I fear that there's no simple solution for BT audio lag and also that companies don't care to make wireless sound instant.

Don't bet too soon....

How many of these threads do we really need? There's at least 3 of them already.
Not trying to sell them, as here we care about latency, and I haven't seen a single review give serious comment on that. But, they give 5 hours with a full charge and the little case they come in has a battery, 15mins in that and you've got 3 more hours. Battery box should give 24hrs worth of charges before you need to charge that using lightning cable (Charging of box with airpods inside will charge both, simultaneously). Both L and R have a mic, so you don't need to worry about which one you use if you're just making a call. In fact you can probably get away with using one then the other for continuous talking beyond 5 hours, keeping the spare one in the box
This "one hole for everything thing" doesn't work.
Whats next?
Sony headphones with lighting jack mfi ™ that don't fit into my mac without another ridiculous adapter?
and that block the only port, no power, blah blah
meh
the future, hurray, meh
extra bluetooth batterie charging and bt latency
hurray
I need to say hurray a few more times to believe it myself.
Only apple can do this.
Hurray.
Apple still doesn't realise that they make shitty headphones.
Hurray.
Now with everything you don't want.
Hurray.
I want one... it will make my iPhone 6 look just like a 7 with my friends.
(Not really... but I can't stop thinking there might be a few people that would really buy one of those)
I hate to say it, but as I was buying a bunch of low end hardwar> @Lacm1993 said:
Oh that is just freaking brilliant! Haha. And it helps solve that terrible waterproofing problem Apple cited as one reason why they'd like to eliminate the 3.5mm jack.
I think my favorite part of that is that actually existed and you plugged it in, it would permanently mute your audio and you couldn't remove it. Innovative.
…er, actually, a year out and a jack out.

But does the future believe in Apple.
