Thanks for reporting this bug. We have a fix coming for all three iFretless apps that will prevent MIDI feedback loops like this. (The third iFretless app just released this morning - iFretless Sax)

  • Good man @Sirhans.
    Success with the new app.

    World strings next?...sitar,kora,oud, ect?

    @Commonstookie ,

We are looking for musicians to record samples for a number of other apps. Which app comes next will depend on which one we get a complete set of samples first.

Do you have access to a sitar, kora, or oud that could be sampled for the project? :)

  • I wish..but Wouldn't it be nice to do a little trip with the ipad....Mali,Asia,India.

  • @commonstookie, @PaulB

We addressed this problem in the recent updates to all the iFretless apps. Did that fix the problem?

  • Not sure. I've forgotten what the problem was. Lol. I'll have to check.

For some reason I thought it wasn't coming until ios 7 @Sirhans...I have only just tried it!

Bends are working fine...no crashes...cubasis transposes everything down an octive, but other than that, tings is cool.:)

Will test with BM2 later today.

    Thanks @Sirhans

  • Apologies for bumping an old thread, but I have an iFretless update issue, but one which I think derives from an iOS update issue rather than iFretless itself.

Yesterday, I busted out iFretless Guitar for the first time in a few months to improvise a bit on my iPhone SE. I was quite bummed to find that iFretless is badly affected by the edge of screen issues introduced by iOS 11 (where touches very near to the screen edge may not register at all). To my understanding, this is because iOS 11 is watching for multitasking gestures around the entire perimeter of the screen.

I'd noticed it as a problem with BS-16i already, where you can't hit the keys too close to the end or you get silence. But in iFretless, it's the whole first and last strings that are affected. I had to set it to six strings in order to get four playable strings in the middle.

The only app I have noticed which introduced a specific fix for this edge of the screen thing was Phasemaker by @brambos so I guess there is a way to program around it? This is the first app I've noticed it having a critical functional impact rather than a 'better avoid the edges of the keys' annoyance. It may be less so on a larger phone than the SE (I have not tried it on my 6+ yet, which is also on iOS 11).

  • Tell the developer to look into "preferredScreenEdgesDeferringSystemGestures" for the solution. It should be a simple fix. :)

  • Cool. Thanks! I don’t think @Blue_Mangoo posts here anymore so I’ll look for their Facebook group.
