Collect as many AU's as possible and forget all the non AU's to spare yourself a lot of money and headaches.

Yeah... true. I wish more were AU capable. I can't wait for more AU and to see what will happen with all this tech in and into the future. :)

Actually... Is there an easy way to find those? Obviously, a search for “AU” returns many irrelevant results but “AUv3” or “AUX” or “Audio Unit” don’t list the right apps.

I think we're stuck maintaining a list manually for now. The most definitive I've seen is by @philowerx

Will AUM work on my iPad 2? I would have gotten it days ago if I would have known. lol. Thanks! :)

Edit: I was kind of waiting to get AB3 but being it's iOS 10 and up only do I wait until I get an iPad Pro 2 and get Audiobus 3 or do I get AUM now and call it good. ... I may try to wait until Mon. when AB3 is out and see what going on. I probably will end up with both. Lol.

it works on my ipad3. and my ipad3 is weaker than the ipad2 so i think the answer is yes.

Having had a 2, and still have a 3, confused how the 3 is weaker than than the 2? The 3 has four times the pixels to work with, and a more powerful CPU. I suppose you could argue the CPU improvement wasn't enough to keep up with all the extra pixels, but I didn't experience that

Check the CPU benchmarks online. For some wierd reason the 3 ran poorer than the 2. I've personally tested em side by side. The 2 could run 2-3 gadgets more than the 3 in all my tests. And even elastic drums ran better on it.

Huh, weird, never had any audio stuff til after the 2 was gone. Just one more reason the 3 needs to follow it into the dust bin. Waiting on the Pro 2's

    Hard n gritty synths
    Poison-202, Sunriser, Magellan
    (Pick one)

    Atmospheric evolving
    Animoog, Mitosynth, Grainscience

    Phat analog
    Model15, DRC, ODYSSEi

    Crazy but cool
    iWAVESTATION, iVCS3, wolfgang (any)

    Classic & chime-like
    Cassini, midiSynth

    Rich and Esoteric
    SynthMaster, Melotron

If I HAD to pick 3:
    Animoog, Model15, Cassini

    (Alt 3rd Mitosynth, alt-alt 3rd SynthMaster) :)

Interesting we both seem to have a thing for iceGear sound
If I had to pick three they'd be Model 15, Phasemaker, and Redshrike

Seems to me it's hard to say whether Redshrike goes in the Hard n gritty or the Classic section, both?
Also have and really like Mersenne. Probably next most tempted by Laplace, just wish it and Mersenne would go universal and get an iPhone layout like Redshrike. I see Cassini was just updated, perhaps they'll add Link at some point

If you're on Facebook I keep the list most current. https://m.facebook.com/groups/1704410769839550?ref=bookmarks

  • Personal favourites from the selection I have accumulated : 0
    Model 15.
    Animoog.
    iSem.
    FM4.

That said, Gadget is probably a nice suggestion for an iPad 2 both as a soundsource or sequencing environment.

(I'd like Z3TA since it was a great sounding VST, but not if it's likely to be unsupported.)

  • You might had bought some already, but my suggestion is Scythe app by BitMask Studios which is best in its type with drag and drop layout and wavetable. You might need to check it.

    App link: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/scythe/id1278439277?mt=8

    Good luck!

I'm looking for tips on what synthesizer app I should buy and anything about or on music or being an iOS artist/ musician. I just got Cubasis, I have Magellan & iMPC Pro but I'm not sure what else I should get. I've really been looking at getting Z3TA+ but Cakewalk never seems to update their stuff. Any sugestions/ tips? I only have an iPad 2 but am looking forward to getting an iPad Pro second generation whenever they come out. :)

Ohhh and I'm looking forward to getting Audiobus 3. How about yourselves? Thank you everyone!!!
