Preset Surfing with Korg Mono/Poly

In this video, I preset surf with KORG's Mono/Poly IOS APP. I use the iRig Keys so I can change the sound without touching the screen for faster surfing

Haven’t got this one, but I do have the iPolysix. Great sounds, but hasn’t been updated for over two years. No MIDI learn, so not much use to me these days.

I have both... polysix is another beast, it has a sequencer, sounds good though.

I think it was one of the last I bought from Korg, because of the uncertainty regarding the compatibility issue with iOS 11. It feels kinda old fashioned, difficult menu systems & an unintelligible sequencer. But the sounds are classic, I love the string sounds... it’s a must have app for aficionados. Go grab it

This. I wanted to love it but it really is not great for integrating into a mixed synth setup - or at least it wasn't for me.

No external MIDI PC. 2 synths are locked onto MIDI channel 1 and 2.

It does sound great though but it seems to be more of a composition tool than anything else.

Yeah, I only use it for it’s sounds, not in any midi setup. Just the wav sound recorded into a daw.
That way I could justify me buying it

  • iPolysix sounds fantastic, but as mentioned it doesn't play well with others. It is a very different synth from Mono/Poly and you won't be treading the same ground if you pick it up.

If you think Kong synth apps sound great, then you won't be disappointed with iPolysix. If you're willing to deal with Korg older apps that don't have a modern feature-set, you won't be disappointed.

If no for any of the above then this app isn't for you.
