Very nice! I own both of these wonderful plugins! They’re gonna see a lot of use!
Excellent. are there any plans to optimize the GUI for iPad Pro 12.9 size? The bright pillars slightly degrade the beautiful illusion of working with a world class hardware effects unit
They’re both great apps and do work well with other eq and filter apps to really shape your sounds.
Are you already part of the testflight program? If not, could you please send me your e-mail in pm (to SoundDesignAddicted) I'll add you. I guess you got same issue with Maxima ? Thx in advance, Fred
Yes same issue with Maxima, Just PM’d you my TestFlight email. Thanks!
Not sure if this is just me, but using five instances of Maxima under Auria Pro, three as Master setting, two as something else, I noticed that when the fifth instance was added a nasty hiss developed.
I've just tried with a lot more than five instances of Maxima in Audio Pro, in the main project (so the one with the girl singing) - No hiss
Done!
Hmm. Okay, Fred. Must be something else. Will give it another go as soon as possible.
I have the problem that when I use in GB a few Audio Units, when I export it (as a song) not all the AU’s stay active in the exported song; I mean that they are active when you listen to the GB project but not all of them are active in the exported song of the project. I think it is an GB issue and not a Maxima issue, cause I experienced it with Maxima but also with Auvoicerackfx. Not nice! Makes me not using AU’s in GB anymore. A shame cause I have both the FAC Chorus and Maxima app and I like them.
@FredAntonCorvest - Nice demo! Can you still hear all the Audio Units in action when you export this demo as a song (via long press on the project name > share > song)?
Does anyone know if you have to open an Audio Unit first (before using it in GB) and then use it in GB?
And: is it a problem to duplicate a track in GB which has an AU in it?
It all seems to work fine, it only doesn’t work fine when one exports it as a song - at least for me it didn’t. And exporting as a song is my workflow. I did a reset of GB in the iPad settings, but that didn’t help. Or perhaps my project was somehow corrupted. But for me....hmm....not willing to risk another mess up with it.
@Marcel Could you please perform a simple test? Fire a new project in GarageBand, put something on a track then add an Audio Unit Extension. Warning: very important please take one from Apple. So for example AUDelay, set a long delay in the parameters. You could also test with other famous company. Finally perform an export. Out of curiosity what's your setup? ps: I don't have my iPad right now so I propose you something you could already test. Best, Fred
@FredAntonCorvest - thanks for reply - I tested as you asked. New project, 6 instruments (only GB instruments: drums, bass, piano, 2x keys, strings) and one Apple AU on 1 track (audynamicsprocessor, it boosts the volume level). I set it up that without the AU you hardly hear the track and with the AU on you definitly hear it. Exported it as song: no problem, I heard it. Then I put the AU on 5 of the 6 tracks, exported it: no problem, I heard everything.
BUT THEN: i turned the Apple AUs off and put Maxima on 5 of the 6 tracks, exported it as a song and only 2 were hearable! I did clearly hear all of them within the project, but not in the song.
About my setup. For this test I only used GB and had nothing (apart from my headphone) connected to my iPad Air 2 ios 11 (latest version).
@Marcel Thank you for the time you spent to provide me more info about the issue. I've checked last night and indeed I've got Maxima ignored in the rendering phase (song/share/bla bla bla). As you mentioned earlier I've also got sometimes some strange behavior while exporting track containing other fx. I think it's an issue in Garage Band because I've made a couple of test in AUM and everything is fine. Do not misunderstand me, I think it's an issue of Maxima in GarageBand. This issue becomes my priority, and I propose you to PM your mail to add you to the testflight program. What do you think? Best, Fred
@FredAntonCorvest - Thank you for taking the issue serious. I hope there is a solution. I have PM’d you my mail adress.
Hello,
I’ve got this exact export issue with all Audio damage AU, it’s a Garageband issue for sure as AUM works perfectly. Seems to not have issues with Ddmf, blamsoft and Fac AU, exports are ok, but I haven’t tested with lot of maxima AU at the same time. I avoid using GB because of this issue, as I need all my AU.
Indeed seems a GB issue, please have a read to the post “AU effects render problems in GB
”
Thanks I’ve read it hope it will be fixed by Apple but not for iOS12!
I think this could be fixed by GB putting a share button right in the project view.
