There is no AB/iaa output for Garageband, only input. Unfortunately.
Hmm... I just got a moment to check. You're right. I thought I was able to do it.... Bummer! So how does anyone get anything out of GarageBand with rendered AU effects?
With that bug, there is no possibility to use AU properly!!!! You always can load AUM as iaa input in GB, and play your audio and AU material here, you will record everything wet in GB as audio. Or you can export all tracks separately for post treatment in something else. I use AUM for AU myself, and hope for a GB fix ASAP, I don’t use it waiting for this.
Umm, no Waves plug-ins, no Fabfilter plug-ins. GB has some synths I like, but it would put them up against Twin2 and Micrologue any day of the week. Plus for me the other 2 just sound better.
Alchemy inside garageband is great, but nothing compares to opening twin2, firing a preset that have one or more XY pads, turning the onscreen keyboard on and playing it while using the XY pads at the same tome for random modulation. It’s better than Korg’s famous Kaoss pads IMO.
Can only loop a single section or all sections. Being able to set the start an end loop points to any bar would make it a lot easier when writing and recording.
Can only quantise a whole clip. Can't just select notes within a midi clip and quantise them.
No midi or stem export.
I still use GB a lot though because it's universal and so easy to move between iphone and ipad to work on the same song
Yes, I can only use one instance of pumphouse AUV3 in AUM and eos basically makes AUM crash if you push it too far. I feel audiodamage rush their apps too fast to iOS.
I can have aufx space, Italizer, virsyn reverb and WaveFolder doing all kinds of crazy things, even apefilter and no crashing
Therefore I don’t buy audio damage apps anymore
