Can anyone explain how this slice mode of this app works?

  • Last time I tried it I loaded a sample then switched to slice mode, the sample is then distributed across the 16 pads. You can then press record and play the pads containing the slices you want to trigger. Its really powerful when combined with the effects ,lfo ,filter section, pitch and start and end . I'm not really following the big GR-16 thread so I'm not sure what changes people are requesting for slice mode. But that's how I used it in the past.

Just so I understand, could you slice one sample, say a longish pad sound, and then seamlessly modulate it over the 16 pads without it being steppy (though steppy could be good too)? I'm away from my electronic teat/Ipad now to check this out, but wonder if it fits this use case. I think you can, but I'm wondering if this has been tried.

I believe this can be accomplished but last I knew a sample could not exceed 10 seconds*, which may or may not be long enough for your purposes.

*that may have changed with the last up date not sure

Thanks for the response. I confirm that since the last update the sample length is now 16 seconds.
