Paul‘s Extreme Sound Stretch ios alternative?
Is there an app similar to Paul‘s Stretch out there?
Comments
There was a thread about this, some months ago. The short answer is no. The nearest thing would be the excellent AudioStretch.
Otherwise, if you want to do some of the more extreme sound stretching, Audacity for the desktop contains some of the Paul Stretch effects.
Check out the wave editor in Caustic or AudioStretch

just in case you didn't know about the vst

And it's donationware. How much do we have to collectively donate to get it ported to iOS?
Here's the old thread. https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/13049/is-there-anything-better-than-audiostretch-on-ios-for-slowing-down-audio-for-ambient-audioscapes/
On page 2, there's a demo/experiment I did with Loopy. If you record into Loopy at a very high BPM and then slow it way down it works very well. Maybe not Paul Stretch well but very well indeed. SampleRobot just added time stretching features as well. Haven't tried it yet but considering @Michael did them both, it might do the trick too.
If your still using ios 10 or less there is an app called Purple Goo which allows you access itunes and you can stretch a 3 min song to last hours or even days according to the app store bla bla bla. However no Audiobus, or export functions that I'm aware of but its also free. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/purple-goo/id646191395?mt=8
Looks like the C++ source code for the VST/AU is up at https://bitbucket.org/xenakios/paulstretchplugin/overview Alas, it's licensed via GPLv2 which makes it incompatible with the App Store according to some (without explicit permission from the copyright holders, I think).

it would be cool to have it on iOS, from reading most of the paulstretch links I get the feeling that they never took it too seriously.
purple goo is great, use that all of the time, never thought to request some refinement updates for export and such, maybe we should.
Having fun playing around with the vst version inside Bitwig. Can’t believe how much you can re shape a sample. Would love to see this on iOS. Made me dig out AudioStretch and have a play but with a lot less control. Please can we have a iOS version.
Out of curiosity, what features are missing from AudioStretch? Looks like a great app otherwise
