Groovebox.... sleeper app, I am loving
when this originally came out, I had no interest. However I remember videos where Jakob spoke highly of this app. So for valentine’s day, My wife gave me a itunes card. I decided to give it a shot. Wow it sounds really great! the Minimon synth sounds really nice and warm. But the drums and percussion are what hooked me. It’s so fast to layer up rich sounding percussion tracks. I’m digging this app. Hopefully the next addition will be a sampler that allows importing of your own wav files. that would be fantastic.
Just curious, does anyone else enjoy this app. If so do you have a cool tips tricks?

I use this app all the time, both for fun and for idea generation. The synths sound really nice..the drums, as you say, are great too, with lots of sounds available via the packs....Programming the synths is easy as the controls are well picked and nicely laid out.
Pair it with blocs wave via link and you won't need much else to keep yourself entertained for hours
Use the sections view to copy tracks..and then copy patterns between tracks (you cannot do this in the normal view) to get layered synths.....
Above all, don't forget to mess with the swing settings to get some real groove on the go
If you are exporting for use in Launchpad app, then open the filter up on the synths before you export...then use the filter in Launchpad instead to allow you to fine tune or do some sweeps etc..this is particularly good if you have a LaunchControlXL
I am also a fan of copying patterns between tracks.
Recording Xynthesizr into the patterns is fun.
The new Minimon synth does sound very good.
good tips. thanks
Wow great ones guys keep them coming!
I like combining Groovebox and any of the Lumbeat drum apps. Crank up the jam variation setting and the drum app adds a nice evolving quality to a steady groove in Groovebox.
Lol. Did totally forget that!
yeah,agreed
I linked it with several apps. both drum and synth, and it’s tons of fun.
That reminds me, must get Rock Drum machine...
Yeah I do this too, totally forgot about it......also the Rozeta sequencers...
The Bassline sequencer works particularly nicely with the 2 mono synths....Minimon and Retrobass, just give them some glide (Page B on the OSC sections) to get the slides
