  • Love it.
It is just so easy and enjoyable to get something going with it.
    Recommend highly.

  • So Riffer goes AU, but not AU midi!

    Not sure what you mean.
It shows up as AU Midi in AB.
It loads as an AU in AUM and drives loaded synths.
Is there some other thing missing?

Yes it doesn’t show up as an AU midi app in Cubasis, so either there is a fault with Cubasis, the app itself or it’s not actually AU midi.

Issues with changing scales in AUM (AU)..

    Edit ...And AB3.

Yep and in other hosts. The AU is a good step forward though. Just needs some tlc

Can’t change Quantization in AUM either but works in stand alone

  • AUv3 just rolled in :)

  • Seems great so far, but has a problem with the drop down lists. Especially Scales are hard to change right now.

That is weird. I believe you are correct, it is actually an AU Midi Instrument.
You can load it as an AU instrument in Cubasis on a midi track and record the output, but it is not listed in the AU Midi Effects area.

    AU in UK now

Ah ok, this could be interesting.

  • Is £6.99 still the sale price?

@MonzoPro Got it on day one release for that.

  • Just updated. Having a lot of trouble getting those drop down menus to activate as an AU in AUM. Anyone else having this difficulty? Hope it is fixed shortly.

  • No AU parameters exposed unfortunately, so hope that'll come some day. But this has just become even more useful. :)

  • Yeah the drop down lists need fixing. You can just about change scale by swiping up and down, but it's not easy.

  • Shame no AU midi , Cubasis is out.

    @Audiomodern

It seems as though the problem is the pop up menus aren’t visible.
If you pretend the menu works, and tap and drag to where your selection would normally appear, it changes the parameter.
For scales, a small drag up or down will step through the choices.
For quantize it is more difficult, as you have to drag to the correct spot on the invisible list.
For direction, it is the same as quantize, but only 3 choices so it is easier to do.

If you open the standalone and look at how the menus are supposed to appear, then what I said will make more sense.
It seems like this would be an easy thing to fix for the dev. The sliding parameters like Shuffle work fine.
For Pitch, it seems to work the same as standalone.
It is just those pop up windows not being visible, but they actually still function.

Thanks for the confirmation, if the AU feedbacks good I might pick this up later.

  • Yep you can just about work the menus, but hopefully they'll fix that soon. Now with multiple instances you can create Fugue-like randomisations, great fun :)

  • @Michael AB3 keyboard gets in the way of full AU view for RIffer in midi input slot.

Is there a way to minimise it ?

  • What’s the feedback like now with this app? Been on my radar for a while, and now it has the AU...

It’s one to watch if you ask me. At the moment the AU has issues - drop down selections don’t show. The full screen resizing is really slow at times. It doesn’t have the AU midi extension yet. Still slow to get the midi onto a lane over the VST version with its drag and drop.

Oh ok, how about the standalone version? Just been playing with SPA, and it’s a bit crap with the randomly generated stuff.

It should look like this. You can minimize it with these arrows.

I think you may have loaded it into an Audio slot. You should delete that and instead load it in a Midi input slot.
When I loaded it as an Audio AU input, the internal KB lost the arrows doodad. Strangely, the AU midi input instance also lost the arrow doodad for as long as I had the Audio input instance loaded.
Once I deleted the Audio instance, I still had to reload the Midi instance to get the arrow doodad back.
But now, all good I think.

  • This looks very interesting and now with an AU version even more so.

Anyone know if the standalone version accepts MIDI clock input for synchronisation ?

Once AB3 gets MIDI clock input then this hopefully won't be an issue with the AU MIDI version anyway...

  • edited November 2018

    Update:
Doesn’t seem to respond to MIDI clock input in standalone unless I’m doing it wrong.
However works well in AB3 multi-instance (apart from menu bug mentioned above) and is a lot of fun running a few instances.

@Audiomodern Should MIDI clock input syncronise the App tempo & start/stop in standalone ?
If not, could you look into implementing this function of possible?

Whoops! Good to know. I'll get this fixed.
