Korg Gadget2 LIVE performances?

Hi all,

Is there way to have a simple 4 bar drum loop play continuously and then do LIVE performance

using multiple tracks all synced so that they play the same notes from my keyboard?

I.E. a low bass sound, a mid range synth, and a plucky lead all playing the same thing as I perform

but transposed over 3 octaves?

If you go to the settings cog in gadget you will see the advanced midi option. Once you’ve selected that you can choose midi input port and channel for each track so you can play each instrument separately. Or you could choose the same port and channel for different tracks and play different instruments at the same time.

In the past I’ve used a AUM and Step Poly Arp to split up the MIDI I’m playing so that it sends a bass riff via Step Polly Arp into a bass synth of gadget with a different channel in gadget being fed from my straight chords. It’s lots of fun !

  • There is midi input- easy/advanced, when I select advanced nothing happens except the “Advanced” tab turns blue no channels or anything to select

The MIDI button on the mixer channels changes to ALL - click it and you can now select how that track responds to MIDI (when set to Easy, this button just toggles active track that received all MIDI input from any channel).

  • Thank you, I needed to have the mixer expanded to see this. The only manual I have is the "Beginners Guide" the Studio Guide and Gadget Guide are both blank for some reason. Sorry to bother you all with what must be very basic questions. Thanks again

Both are available through their site. Not update in a while unfortunately.
