  • Oooh new colors! Yes, that pleases me as much as the real features

  • All these updates tells me something might be coming out soon so I hope my speculations are true :)

I imagine that has to go through a solid beta test first

Perhaps the work on the new synth is having a ripple effect on the UI improvements on the other apps?

You might be on to something here ;)

Is it possible to use the new upwards compression to do like a reverse side chain effect? So rather than ducking on the kick it peaks with the kick?

Edit: Just answered my own question, and it’s a YES! Sounds awesome if you do this with a complex beat into a drone then mute the output of the beat itself. Makes the drone play in the rhythm of the beat.

Could you explain how you did it ? Am getting curious 😎

You can also use the preview feature for that.

Ha, well I’ll take the free updates so thank you. Your apps are uniformly top notch and an excellent value given the price point.

Here’s a little video of the effect. Sorry, it’s on my phone in portrait mode so not ideal!

First I show the beat with the sidechain bus, then the droney chordy bit with the compressor on.

You want to set tb compressor to upwards compression with a high threshold - took me a while to figure that out. There’s lots of tweakability after that.

You can get a cleaner gated effect using FAC envolver to control a gain knob but I like how this is gritty and rumbly.

Edit: just realised this thread is about barricade, and I used compressor. Presumably barricade does the same if it supports upwards compression

  • Just a quick heads up: the latest Enhancer update doesn't seem to appear in AUM as AUv3. We're working on this to provide an update ASAP.

please let us know when the update is ready… am using enhancer in almost every session ….

  • Just a side note to @DJB:
Thank you for extending the dynamic EQ functionality in the TB EQ. I've requested it last year and now my favorite EQ is going even stronger 👍🏼

AFAIK Barricade doesn't feature upward compression. TB EQ4 does.

    Thanks for sharing the tip.
