FM Player 2 crashing as Auv3
Anyone having problems with FM Player 2? I’m using as Auv3 inside Beatmaker 3 and it keeps crashing or going silent, but mostly crashing. Love the sounds, just wish I could keep it going.
Comments
Stick to one instance per project. It’s more stable that way
I was only using one. I’m assuming by your comment that the app is known for being unstable? That’s sucks because it’s got some great sounds.
I think that all AudioKit AUs are struggling with stability at the moment (is that fair?).
Yes fantastic sounds but it’s swift-based audio engine is currently struggling as an Auv3...
There's hope on the horizon. Been working daily on some excellent new AUv3 open-source example code. This new code will power future AK apps (and any developers apps that want to use this MIT open source code). Plus, we can then go back and implement it into FM2 & D1.
@analog_matt great news! Thank you to you all for your effort!
@analog_matt can’t wait!
Will the new code reduce the memory footprint and patch loading times (e.g. by introducing streaming from disk?)
November 2020. I use the app each day and it crashes at least 2 times a day in AUM. That’s sad because I like the sound of this app.
AudioKit. Great sound, terrible stability. They are all a WIP I understand so not all is lost.
This is why I donate.
me too. same problem in AUM and Audiobus 3. I try using it as IAA, and the same problem. It crashes constantly
The problem was always too many midi signals.
Today, the app received an update.
I tried to sequence something intense in the app, put the tempo at 240 bpm, let it run 5 minutes, no more crashes. I hope it's true because I really like this app. The only annoying thing was the crashes but I think the new update fixed it!
Cool!
