Mobile version in a month or so 😢

Has anyone got the desktop beta version to install? I haven't been able to so far but my old(er) OS could be why.
It is a web app. the demo is a web app.
I can view it as a web app but can't open the sucker. (Macbook here). Anyone else?
Eww
For the purpose of testing system compatibility I'm fine with a web app given that if it worked I'd purchase the beta itself to install properly . As it is now the unresponsive web app has me clueless about compatibility and nowhere can I find System Requirements beyond "Mac".
It’s just not a good move. My interest in this app has gone from mild to zero. Especially since it’s not even a VST/(AU.
I had no problem installing it on my Mac Pro with High Sierra. It’s a Chrome app which I thought was a little weird. Very little in the way of functionality is active yet. I thought it would be further along but he did say it was going to be missing things. I don’t care to make music on my computer since using iOS so I look forward to the iPad version.
Hmm after more digging I see that the Chrome eSPi app is ‘damaged or incomplete’.
I’ve trashed it and tried again but same result so far. Strange.
Low Hiss I think should have made it clear its web based. I do appreciate the hard work he has done but from what I’am seeing on feedback here & gearslutz & Youtube it seems bit of a let down as the bugs seem to be a lot and in reality customers are paying to be beta testers. I will support Low Hiss but lets hope these many bug reports are sorted soon otherwise it will not pass Apples app reviews for iOS.
He was clear that it would be a paid beta test. I haven’t purchased the desktop version so I am not clear if the free trial is web based and the paid version is a standalone app. Anybody buy the desktop version yet and can clarify?
@anickt yes he made it clear but seems its very very much bugged. Lot of people reporting sample import issues etc for the paid version. Maybe he should of held back a few more weeks. Makes me also think will this put off a lot of iOS customers, i hope not as this esp1200 is much impressive.
@anickt there are lot of issues reported for the paid desktop version being web based but some have also said that its just the one time web based then can use offline. But then how is that going to help with Low Hiss beta testing. All bit confusing plus some are reporting system requirement mac issues. Operating system not been clearly stated for use with esp1200
Reports of people buying paid desktop version but can not install it.
I couldn’t get it to respond to midi at all.
@stormbeats according to Instagram both of those issues have been (sample import) or will be (purchased, unable to install) addressed. I give him the benefit of the doubt at this point.
Am I right in thinking this project took a major left turn recently? It was (still is?) a hardware/firmware project. So the jump to multi platform plugin may have not been as thoroughly planned. Anyone know the story?
I’m starting to think he has cast his net a little too wide and and should have simply focussed on getting the App to work on one platform to begin with.

He announced this toward the end of last year - software version on multiple platforms to fund further development of the hardware project. He was very clear that it was a paid beta that would be buggy and not have all features implemented at release. His videos show the app working on multiple platforms.
One thing that will slow development is that people don’t seem to bother to read his posts or watch his videos which answer many of the questions they have been asking. I’m sure that’s frustrating for the dev. Not referring to you guys in any way, just to the posts and comments on IG and YT.
I’ve been following his Instagram and YouTube and it’s all been laid out pretty clearly over the past few months. I’m not connected to the project in any way. Just interested in it.
Well, cheering him on. What an awesome project.
I’ve fooled around with the free desktop version and it’s pretty limited right now. I’m going to wait another week to see where it goes before I consider purchasing the desktop version. Really not all that interested in that platform but we’ll see. Hopefully the delay in the mobile version means it will come out more fully formed. 😆
I was amazed....until now. I also will wait for a more complete version.
The web app thing got me off
I will wait for mobile
You know, it’s just not a good idea to have a buggy public beta regardless of warnings. You are assuming people understand development and will be sympathetic to bugs but in reality they just want to have early access. You end up with a slew of bad reports working against you and telling people they didn’t read correctly isn’t going to help regardless if you are right. This is just not a good rollout.
It’s actually not buggy from my experience. There are just a bunch of functions that aren’t implemented yet. When you choose one of those functions the “LCD” says “Coming Soon” for most of them. I don’t see that being hard to figure out.
I think that in spite of all of the information put out in advance many still assume they’re getting a finished product that is exactly what they expect it to be and they won’t have to put any effort into learning it first. I’ve seen this with a number of software products.
An example is FLSM. They announced the update and what to expect a year in advance and made it very clear what they were doing. They still got a bunch of people saying they updated to the new version and could no longer open their projects.
At what point does the user have to take some responsibility?
He‘s starting the tutorial videos
😎 He said forum will be open on website tomorrow.
On low-hiss.com ? Cool
Forum is up.
Big update coming. Really having fun with this on my Mac. iOS should be soon.

Nice but i really think now i would not use it as long as it is no plug-in AUv3, AU, VST.
I really tried the workflow with standalone but on desktop i just want to use plug-ins in my DAW of choice.
On an iPad/iPhone it makes more sense as standalone but of course AUv3 would be much better.
Hopefully that comes one day.

Thanks, I will definitely add support for midi velocity in the future.
I'm hoping to release the iOS version end of March/beginning of April. The Android version might drop earlier than that.
