    Not exactly a vs question…

Can this be done in Drambo?

I’ve got it close using the Graphic Modulator and the Flexisampler in Drambo.
    Got some tweaking to do.

    One moment.

Rather than jump through a bunch of hoops to do that natively in Drambo, I think I’d just host Koala in it. If a sample is set to stretch then it will automatically adjust to tempo, and pitch can be automated or linked to a knob or control. Piece of cake😎.

Interested to hear others’ solutions though.

    That’s a smart idea!

    Agreed.
I also have Koala lined up for this purpose.

I decided to try it for fun.
The method I’ve used doesn’t play the very first beat or the
very last beat so obviously there’s tweaking to be done but it is doable.

Here’s the screenshots from my iphone.

The Graphic Modulator will trigger the loop twice when
you first hit play after that it will play the loop normally.
At lower pitches extend the fade time to fill in the gaps
and at higher pitches shorten the fade time.
It works nicely between -12 and +12.
Above and below that is a matter of personal choice.

Also the tempo will maintain pitch between + or - 20 bpm.
Speeding up the loop sounds much nicer than slowing down the loop.
I’m sure someone will be able to sweeten it further.

    Still, it’s fun and doable.

Fair point, koala is probably easier!
Part of the appeal (and the headache) of Drambo for me is how many different ways there are to achieve a single goal. No doubt @rs2000 …the man of infinite Drambo solutions… will figure it out. Or drop a massive bomb that theirs actually time stretching in the next Drambo update 😀

There’s an updated workflow video on the same channel if anyone’s interested.
Clever use of LFO’s and conditional trigs

    Haha, thanks man! 😃

Before Drambo times, I did similar stuff on the Digitakt to do "granular synthesis" from samples.

  • Side note: The pitch shifter in Drambo is good enough for time stretching purposes within reasonable limits.

    You’re welcome.

    Edit.

Change “Native” to “4 beats” for a smoother loop in addition
to the settings in the screenshot for the Flexisampler.
The pitch of the loop will go down as the tempo slows and pitch up when the tempo
speeds up when using this setting so adjust the “pitch” on the Flexisampler to taste.
