  • @seonnthaproducer This started off for me sounding like David Sylvian (who I love) but ended up sounding like Paul Weller (who I don’t like). And it’s because - for me - there is too much singing. There’s no light and shade once the singing starts - obviously that’s a personal thing for me and other people won’t feel that way but light and shade is always good to have. The vocals are definitely too high in the mix as well - and not consistently so, either. Some nice instrumentation, though!

This is my contribution to the SOTM Aug 2020. It was the first full track I made on Gadget (which was in Feb 2020). I have made some changes so that it is more presentable here (such as shortening it). There is no mixing or mastering. I wanted to capture something mysterious, exotic and a new experience; that is of course, my journey into learning about and making music. Hope you like it.

Beautiful. Very atmospheric and a unique kind of sound.

I really like the way the track evolves and takes you on a journey. Some great melodies, good bass line, good groove once it gets going, but most of all the track is really interesting and creative and the music is very evocative.

A lot of effort and craft has gone into this and it shows IMO.

  • Thank you for listening and glad you liked it. :)

I googled Klezmer. Never heard of this before. As for Mahler reference; you're too kind. I love classical music but I have thus far stayed away from Mahler's work. I think the harmonic minor key may have something to with that feeling.

Interesting the sound of Novachord. I should have another listen.

Thank you for your comments and observations as usual. Being the first full track I ever composed it, even today, has a lot of problems with the arrangement of sections - which I might fix at some point.

Thank you all for your comments. It would nice if everyone posting at least took some time to listen to other's tracks and comment as well.
