Best Entry-Level USB Microphone
Considering a microphone as a Christmas gift for a kid to sing and record acoustic guitar into Garageband.
Right now Im deciding between a Blue Yeti and a Shure Mv5. Any thoughts?
Comments
The Shure does 24bit recording and delivers a wider dynamic range (less noise, higher peaks) plus offers some software automation support that will make an easier start.
The Yeti is a multi-pattern design (3 capsules) which is no advantage for the guitar-vocal application and is 16bit only.
Let me ask you out of my curiosity why are you choosing only between those two?
In this couple, I'd turn to the Shure because to me it seems to be easier to use.
I've had experience with both of them, but I'm absolutely open to suggestions. The Samson C01U seems pretty versatile, too.
Really like my Rode NT-USB
