Simplified “make everything sound better” plugins
Are there any simplified iOS AUv3 FX that are designed to make individual tracks, or indeed full mixes sound, well, just “better”?
In VST land I am referring to things like Waves Scheps Parallel Particles, or Waves “one knob” series, their Greg Wells MixCentric or Zynaptic’s Intensity, if those reference that makes sense?

Virsyn BarkFilter's Tripleband preset has been mentioned before and can be a pretty amazing improvement about 80% of the time (in my personal experience). Adjusting the thresholds is sometimes necessary to get it closer to ideal, but the presence boost is usually immediately obvious without any adjustment.
Edit: If your mix suffers from lack of stereo width, Wider by Infected Mushroom is easy and awesome. Also I also find DDMF's NoLimits to be a great tool that only requires turning up the Threshold dial a bit.
+1 for BarkFilter.
In a similar vein as Barkfilter: WOOTT by BramBos.
Audio Damage's Grind or FabFilter's Saturn 2, or maybe both.
Your definition of better could well be different to mine.
PSA Jr (or the more specific stereo version) is an awesome preamp emulation.
Ha ha true! I am particularly looking for something to get acoustic kick and snares punchin’, but interested in anything in this field really.
You might find an amp and cab simulator will give you that needed punch.
I've never used it, remember it only for the name, but not so long ago a lot of people seemed excited by the MagicDeathEyeStereo compressor app/plugin.
Toneboosters Enhancer
BarkFilter TripleBand preset works great for a majority of things I can slap it on when producing more beatbased genres. I don't bother with it when producing Ambient/Minimal Techno.
WOOTT is perfect for basses, from subbasses to midbasses and ther basses inbetween.
Wider is great for widening sounds. I worship Infected Mushroom.
That said, what were you looking to do BillS? ...
Ah I see. In this case, I would get FAC Transient. That will punch up the acoustic kicks and snares proper. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
You know what would be a nice one-function app? A Tone dial which would perform a series of background improvements (in much the same way Beef does) to boost the clarity of a track. This, in my opinion, would be a perfect plugin app.
There used to be a vst plug-in by Steinberg that used to analyse
a tracks signature profile and then apply it to a mix that your working on.
The closest to that on the iOS platform that I've discovered
is Toneboosters Eq and most probably Fabfilters Q2 with
their spectrum display though you have to visualise and do it yourself.
An IR impulse could do the same thing thinking about it and then blending between the two.
There are so many possibilities.
It wouldn’t be easy to make, but Toneboosters or IK Multimedia or BLEASS would be the perfect developers for such a thing.
Wow, some tempting suggestions. I can see a bunch of GAS money heading in the wrong direction tonight 😂
I think it's possible when the dev's have already done IR and DSP stuff.
MiRack for instance has a convolution module, there's Thafknar
which I've loaded up using IR's from https://floaudio.bandcamp.com/
with some fairly impressive IR's.
Doug did a vid. A beatformer vid. Sounded good, it did. Around 10 quid.
I don't have that one but as far as I know it's more of a transient designer.
Another came out recently which does a similar thing called ,'Intensifier',
which is currently free.

Thinking about it there is also a transient patch if you're got DRambo on patchstorage.com.
You can also add Drum Surgeon from 4pockets.
For a simple one-knob effective tool: Klevgrand's Luxe
Throwing my +1 in for Barkfilter. In most cases it’s set and forget.
For drums get the FAC Transient. There will even be presets waiting that require minimal tweaking if any. Pro C2 is expensive but also has a lot of presets for easy drum compression that sound great without doing any work other than adjusting the threshold knob.
Luxe by Klevgrand is ok, but rather than put a touch of that on each individual track, and I scoffed at this for a long time before I tried it, but the Barkfilter Triple Band preset is indeed amazing on a mixed track to give it an instantly semi-professional at least feel that’ll make you go holy shit. So that would be my universal covers everything choice.
+1 FAC Transient for individual hits and some mixes. FAC Maxima for punching up a drum mix with minimum fuss. FAC Bandit has some great presets as starting points for drum mixes as well.
I love Beatformer, but it's pretty CPU consuming.
Just realised I already own (it might have been free) the Nembrini PSA1000 jr which is also good for drums
I meant to mention yes, get your mix straight!!! Otherwise you will be polishing a turd lol.
The night I got Barkfilter I put all of my previous mixes through it and heard them with fresh ears. Definitely recommend.
It obviously adds a ton of color and the chorus effect, but the basic Juno style first preset of FAC Chorus makes most things still sound better to me. Just a different take on the question.
Also love Klevgrand’s GoToEQ, Luxe, and Re-Amp. FAC Maxima can be helpful but it’s like a sledgehammer and that can work in some situations better than others.
FabFilter Saturn 2. I put that shit on everything!
MixBox. It is a single app with lots of presets you might use globally.
I use Reelbus a lot, 15ips setting.
Also Toneboosters eq, good for getting in the ballpark for individual tracks when headphones can be a bit deceiving.
Use barkfilter on trips and Blue Mangoo’s stereo lag and u will be awed…
