QNTM:KNTRL v2.0 - Full Launchpad integration - 9 Mozaic devices for hands-on AUM jamming PT2
QNTM:KNTRL v2.0 is a suite of 9 inter-connected midi generating music tools for jamming AUM.
Version 2 includes a deep integration with the Novation Launchpad, allowing nearly every function to be done on the Launchpad with bi-directional colour feedback.
Devices with LP integration include:
KNTRL: Midi control centre for instruments, effects & mixer. Create your own layouts. Control 1000 parameters with 4 knobs. Download
AUTOM: Scene base automation generator, recorder, controller & editor. Add 16 destinations with colour labels.
SCENES: Master scene controller. Set durations and sync scenes across all QK devices and trigger scenes in apps like LK
CLIPSEQ: Trigger and sequence clip/pattern's in apps like Atom2, LK, Helium etc. 8 channels, 8 scenes, 16 clip slots
NONK: 16ch adaptive keyboard that updates its layout with the selected channel. Custom layouts. Build your own.
BEATS: drum pattern generator & step sequencer. 4 multi-note channels. 8 scenes. Sequence from LP. Use built-in patterns.
NOTES: melody/rhythm generator & step sequencer. 4ch's, variable pattern rate & length. Sequence from LP.
KORDS: chord progression generator/sequencer & incoming note quantiser. You compose in CMajor. KORDS transposes to current chord. 15 channels. 3 harmonisation modes. The device that inspired this entire creation.
SCALEQ: spin-off from KORDS. Instead of sequencing chords, you sequence key changes. But you always compose in C Major & route notes via SCALEQ to be re-harmonised. A 'C' note is always the root note of the current scale.
I came to iPad in March2020 with the intention of moving away from mouse based music production. I'm not a keyboard player or drummer, however I have studied music theory at uni. I wanted a device/instrument for having fun/jamming and sequencing electronic music. Instead, I found Mozaic and spent more than one year of my life coding QNTM:KNTRL like a man possessed in a COVID lockdown. I'm ready to start having some fun now .... please!!
New video's will be added to this playlist on QNTM:KNTRL v2. I'll share more video's every few days....

Let me know what you think. Is this of use to others, or should I have spent my time learning the piano instead?
Should I share as an AUM project in one block at the end of the video series, or in parts with each device video?
Comments
Looks very useful indeed. Are your devices usable by other Midi controllers as well or Launchpad only?
Tim, you’re straight up genius.
You can use any midi controller technically, this would work fine for the knobs, but I don't think I would recommend it for pads. The Mozaic pads and shift buttons can be triggered with notes , so any controller would work but there wouldn't be any colour feedback which is a key feature of its usability.
@onerez 🙏
Thanks.
No way… awesome. Thanks @soundtemple
Omg. I own a twister , a Launchpad and mosaic. Would it be possible to just share the aum project so I can plug and play this ?
@gonekrazy3000 Yes, but it's not quite plug n play.
1. You need to configure the Twister using the MFTwister utility, so your knobs and buttons send the same messages.
2. I've only tested with a LP Mini Mk3
3. You need to connect up your controllers in the AUM matrix
4. You might need to watch some more video's lol!!
I own a Launchpad mini mk3 lol. And 2 twisters. I'll happily flash one of them with your mapping using mf twister utility.
@soundtemple Few people asking where they can hold of this Mozaic program?
@soundtemple do you still have the donation on Q1 on gumroad? Even though I will never wrap my head around this I would like to donate to you for your hard work.
Awesome @soundtemple !
Yea I don’t see on Patchstorage. Availability?
I think it would be great to have both. An AUM project so it is set up and people can see how it works and how it connects. Then each module if you will individually so people can reorder or experiment with different set ups. I don’t know is this is a lot of trouble, but hopefully it’s no too difficult to share both ways. If you can. Cheers mate.
@Poppadocrock Was on Gumtree first time around.
The link in his first video on the program.
@Jumpercollins @Poppadocrock Ok, will setup a blank AUM project with LK and/or ATOM for clip triggering.
I’ve made 10 device overview video’s just need to get them out. Will make those available as I get that done with links to download the individual devices.
I’m putting together some setup instructions to get you started. Will post link here later today.
@Jumpercollins @Poppadocrock Here's the link. It's where I keep all the device info. Downloads are at the bottom.

@soundtemple Cheers.
What are the benefits of using Scenes and Clipseq with LK, instead of mapping the Launchpad directly to LK?
Nice work. Really appreciate your time and effort. I'll be giving it a try once I'm home.
@bleep you can sequence clips within each scene rather than just triggering them manually on the launchpad. Additionally, you have access to control 8 other devices from the same interface which means as well as triggering clips you can play instruments, sequence drum patterns, control instrument, effect and mixer parameters, sequence melodies, create and sequence chord progressions and reharmonize your entire song all from the launchpad and a few knobs.
Thanks for sharing Tim, such a lot of work here.
I had got quite far experimenting with v1 but this looks even better with clip sequencing
I wonder if I can make it work with my Push 2...also I think it could also work well with a TouchOSC template on the same ipad.
@soundtemple can we still donate???
Thanks, I never wrapped my head around v1, but you’ve obviously been putting a lot of work into the project. Now that I have a LPX, I’ll dive though the docs and see if I can make some noises.
As far as I know, Gumroad will allow you to donate by repurchasing stuff.
@onerez @ahallam Over the next month I release videos for each device with a download for the device. My suggestion is (if you're interested) try them all out. See if they work for you. If they add value and you feel like contributing in some way then that will be graciously accepted by me. It's been my obsession, COVID crutch and I'm happy to share it with the great Audiobus community and hope that many will be able to put it to good use.
Speaking of which...
New video on the QK:KNTRL device which is a mid control centre for instruments, effects and the AUM mixer. Control 1000 parameters with 4 knobs over 15 channels. Make your own instrument mappings or use built in.
Download
TIP: if you are mapping to instruments turn the MIDIFB ON knob to off.
