What interesting/creative sample slicers for iPhone?

Stand alone apps. All my favs (BM3, Egoist, Samplr, Borderlands) are iPad and iPad and would be handy to do a bit of creative exploration on the go at the moment.

    I own. Any recommended workflows?

  • Koala with the Samurai IAP without any doubts what so ever!

  • edited August 2021

    Another vote for Koala!

Not quite what you asked for, but similar to Borderlands: SpaceCraft?

Make liberal use of the arpeggiator which is very powerful. I find it particularly useful with percussion/drum parts.

Do have that and use it daily, although I actually mainly use it as a sample prep tool for the po33 right now — just find that soooo much quicker and more creative when it gets down to music making. I spend plenty of time with Koala though and know it very well so I’m sure my interaction will develop naturally throughout the process of my creative flow.

Thanks for the suggestion, have heard a lot of good things about that too.

On an iPhone? I would not personally want to try that.

  • Groove Rider (runs on iPhone but it's a bit too small and fiddly),
Gadget 2 with Stockholm or Abu Dhabi if you don't need to record directly,
    Koala of course,
and Drambo's Flexi which works surprisingly well on the iPhone, both standalone and AUv3:

The modules have the same size as on the iPad, you only see fewer of them on one screen.

  • I think sEGments is universal too.

yuo wrogn 🤦🏽‍♂️ i use this on apple watch very nice 👍

  • I enjoy sEGments a lot. Never used it for anything too serious though.

    It is 😊

EG pulse also works great as a slicer.
It is easy to make a sample, slice it up and then auto assign the slices to different pads.
And it has a sequencer. sEGments doesn’t.

  • I forgot that sEGments works on a phone. That one works well and I could see it being useful on the small screen.
