Love the sound of this thing when it first came on beta good news just been trying the AU out pretty neat. Good sequencer built in a lots of sample control and import.
Thanks for the share, I know we are a little late to the party on the whole AUv3 drum machine thing, but I do think people will find our sequencer to be fun and fresh! Anyone can feel free to join the beta.
I’m getting this on GitHub.
I know I requested a DM you can’t message their account directly. It seems the did that for someone in the comments. So pumped about this, want to try it out hopefully link is fixed.
Better late then never, I’m excited to have a new option, and the sequencer looks really sweet.
any chance I could get a dm on the forum or in Twitter to join the beta. Looks so dope. Cheers.
Got the dm on twitt, thanks @rygrob
Wow it’s pretty freaking dope. I highly recommend so far.
New version will be out Friday!
Update has been released
Yep was on the beta for this puppy
Is a fantastic app
Hope devs get money for their time and effort investment
The discourse on this will be interesting....
I have seen several devs mention low iOS sales for what are reasonably priced and very capable apps. I was flabbergasted to see that NanoStudio 2 only sold 5% of what NanoStudio 1 did. As funky as it appears, Caustic is way underrated. Again, low iOS sales contributed to a halt in development. Still works great on iOS 15 though.
We’re not going to see decent apps on iOS until we’re willing to pay appropriate prices. Sorry to see some whining already regarding Loopy Pro. 🤦🏽♂️
PS - I’d pay $4.99 to use this for a year and if it gets enough use after a year, cancel the subscription and buy it outright. Seems like a no-brainer.
Update is out with new pricing model. I was on beta and they put so much work into this thing it’s hard to argue against adding additional payment, it’s a whole new app. And it’s really well done. I’m a definite fan.
That’s a good point.
Agreed. It’s a whole new app. And it’s glorious!
Or even $1 to test for a month then decide. No harm in that.
It’s $.99 per month
$4.99 per year
$12.99 permanent unlock.
Most Au drum apps are in similar range.
The samples are really drenched in FX, but they remind me of the well-curated iMaschine kits. Need to explore a bit.
You can alter the fx, on an x/y. In bottom right, you can change what is on the screen, the mixer, fx, etc… also you can load your own samples, make your own kits.
Midi in, midi out. I’m really loving this update.
I agree it does have an im2 kind of look and feel about it, maybe it’s the color scheme or the layout, bu5 it works for me, I like the ui a lot.
I’m a cheapskate for not paying a dollar to find out, but can you choke user hi hat samples by assigning them a color group or something?
Let me start by saying I love SDS-x. I've been using it for a long time. Now I'm ok with the developer adding features and charging for IAP. They should be paid for their hard work, but can someone tell me why it's ok to lose features if I update my app? From my understanding one of the Pro features is to import user samples. I can already do that on the previous version. I don't want to support a developer who takes away features already present and then adds them back as an IAP purchase.
Even though I'm on manual updates sometimes an app makes me update it for it to continue working properly or if I update iOS an app needs to be updated to work properly. So I don't want to lose existing features when I update an app. Please correct me if I am wrong about the user sample import. I really do love SDS-x and I would be updating and purchasing the IAP if this part didn't seem so shady.
There is one mute group per kit
I don’t think it’s shady at all. Maybe unusual, but the dev gave us a chance to use the app pretty much in full at no cost and now if you really want the full app you pay something for it. Devs are figuring out how they can financially justify creating AND maintaining their apps so we are going to see different approaches.
I think people need to start accepting the fact that devs can’t work for nothing and if we want to see decent iOS music apps we will have to pay for them. So pay $.99 for a month or $4.99 for a year to try SDS-x out and then buy it outright or continue the subscription.
If certain apps came out as subscription (NS2, Caustic, Loop Magnifico, etc.) I would sub in a second because it would be worth it to me and I know I would use them regularly. Others might work better as a purchase with IAP upgrades.
The model we’ve become accustomed to is unsustainable.
I paid 4.99 for this app back in 2019 so I did not get this app for free. So no, I didn't get to use the app for free at no cost. I have the ability to use my own samples now because I have not updated the app yet. If I do, that goes away and I find that an unacceptable practice no matter what. I agree with all your other points but they are irrelevant in the case of my problem. If you read my post you would see I have no problem paying developers for additional work. Just don't take away a feature if I decide to update an app. Especially a very essential feature. That is shady.
I get it. I was thinking in terms of the beta. 😎👍🏼
Ah. Didn't realize there was a beta. Now I get where that one statement came from. Didn't read up the thread enough about it. I didn't even know iOS apps could have betas. All good. 😎👍
