IK Multimedia’s MixBox Guitar demo
I recorded guitar jam with my friends. I choose the MixBox app as a guitar effect. In my opinion it sounds great! Yes it doesn’t have detailed tuning for the guitar sound, as we have with Amplitube. But this app has a different approach to mixing: it offers simplicity instead of subtle details, and still produces great results!

Sounds great!
You’ve got a great tone here
Thank you! It was very unexpectedly for me. I like Amplitube and I use it a lot, but I wasn’t expected that MixBox with simplified scaled-down version of amps, without usual cab section and without third-party IRs can sound so great from the box!
It’s true! I recorded a guitar solo in a daw project with just the “Modular Guitar Amp - Lead 1” preset from MixBox, and was extremely happy with the tone and how it sat in the mix.
Great Tone indeed.... I use Mixbox in just about all my guitar presets in AUM..... Is yours just Mixbox only or have you got other amp sim also ?
@Richiez1970 no, it’s only MixBox here. And this is my problem because two days ago I was sure that I need 100500 pedals, amp sims and IRs for good guitar tone. But now I see I was wrong… I used here ‘British Tube Lead’ and ‘Overscream’ from MixBox. Plus some kind of cabinet but I don’t know what it was the cabinet - I just turned knob ‘Cab Size’ on amp sim and it’s all
Beautifully done. MixBox CS is invaluable for iOS production, IMO.
Sounds good - nice riffs too!
Great "bell-ish" sound indeed ! A little bit too much "in your face" to my taste, but definitely great 👍🏻
Thank you! I was really impressed by using this app and want to share my thoughts about it. Sure it’s not a ‘tiny little app’ because it looks like an aircraft carrier with a wide range of quality tools on the board
. But anyway it’s not guitar app and it doesn’t have a lot of features that we have in a regular guitar app like Amplitube, THU, Bias etc. In this regard I didn’t expect that it could be used for guitar tone with great results. But I was wrong, and now I’m very happy with these results
