Healthy charging for the USB-C iPads?
I have a new iPad Pro 2021 11 and I bought a 4 port USB charger with one USB-C PD 60W port. I also bought a cable certified for 60W PD. The original power supply has got 20W. My new charger charges the iPad much faster. It can charge with 26-28W and the iPad can draw up to 35W if it is additionally in use. Some guys measured it: article in German
Interesting detail that the USB-A QC is not beneficial at all. Their conclusion is that there is nothing special about the Apple power supplies - it’s just plain USB-C PD - and that a 45+ W PD charger is the best.
So far so good. But now I wonder how healthy it is for the battery to always charge it at the maximum wattage. About iPhones it’s mentioned that they have a smart charging that includes monitoring the battery temperature. My iPad doesn’t get hot during fast charge. Should I assume that that Apple allows only the maximum charge that is healthy? My charger also has got an 18W port and I wonder if I shouldn’t better use it instead of the 60W port and only occasionally do the fast charge when I’m in a hurry. What do you think?

Slower is better, and keeping it away from the extremes—100% and 0%—is also good.
The very worst thing you can do is charge it while the battery is hot. And seeing how the battery gets hot with a fast charge, avoid that unless you’re in a hurry.
I usually take gadgets off the charger before they hit 100%.
It’s not necessary to take it away under 100%, because it doesn’t charge fast anymore from ~90%.
It also shouldn’t damage the battery if you have it on power with 100% because of this fact.
Also Apple counts full cycle charge. By that I mean if you charge your device from 0-100% it’s one cycle and if you charge the device from 80-100% 5 times it count 1 full cycle.
Just don’t leave your screen on in a heavy leather case in your book bag all day. Sob.
