Are you getting any response on your input meter on the Scarlett? Is there any sound coming out of the iPad?
What do you mean by “much of a sound” or “dry signal”? Do you mean the sound of an unplugged electric guitar, or are you suggesting that the line output of the guitar is coming out of the iPad, without any modification by TH-U?
Probably also better to continue with one of your old threads, because the subject matter is largely still about the same stuff: hooking up your guitar to an amp sim.
when i hit the strings its a dry signal with no distortion even thouh im playing what should be a high gain amp
So the Scarlett is definitely working, correct? You hear an audio signal? Coming from your iPad speakers? Or headphones, connected to which output of your Scarlett?
I got it working with headphones pugged into y scarlette but how do i get it where i can monitor my playing thru the ipad's speaker?
Sorry, you can't. Audio can only go to one audio interface at a time (the iPad's internal audio system, or the Scarlett's).
Audiobus has a setting for "Multiroute Audio," but as far as I know this only works with a built-in headphone port, not the speaker.
That's one of the limitations of iOS - only one audio interface at a time. You'll need to run a line from your interface to some external speakers.
