Sequencing IOS With Ableton Live?
Does anyone have any experience sending midi from a pc daw (particularly ableton) out to control iOS apps? I know how to use ableton link to sync them together, but what I want to do is use the piano roll from ableton or fl studio to write on my iPad, as I’m much faster on ableton. I have been iOS exclusive for a few years, and just got a laptop, so I have a ton of great instruments and plugins like fab filter that I don’t want to have to repurchase for pc. I know it would have been easier with a Mac but I got a Lenovo Gaming laptop. If it helps, I am using the newest version of Windows and my interface is a Focusrite 4i4.

Also I mainly write on AUM with Helium and with NanoStudio 2. Though I am also familiar with BM3 and Cubase.
Get yourself one of these USB-Midi adapters or similar: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077X7R74Y. You can either use the 4i4 plugged into the PC or the iPad depending on what you want to do, and the USB-Midi adapter on the other, with the 5-pin DIN connections plugged into the 4i4.
How you connect USB to the iPad depends on what model you have.
Another option would be to get the new Studiomux 5 app to stream your midi between desktop and iOS device.

Second this, works perfectly now!
