Running MIDI Clock in the Background??

I purchased Audiobus for the MIDI clock delay feature (offset for MIDI clock in and/or out). I'm using Audiobus with a hardware looper (receiving MIDI clock) and Setlist Maker app to select songs. Everything works great as long as Audiobus is running in the foreground (with SetList Maker Tempo as the clock source, and my looper's hardware audio out as the clock destination), but when I switch to Setlist Maker the MIDI clock being sent by Audiobus to the looper stops. I've tried everything I can think of to fix it. (FYI, AUM does not behave this way for me.)

Try loading something (anything, including just the Speaker) into an audio output position. There needs to be something active in Audiobus to keep it from deciding to go to sleep when in background.

Typically going to sleep only after some period of time, not instantly, so there may be some other problem. But it's worth a try.

  • Thanks @wim. I don't think that's the case, as I do have an active audio output. And the clock stops right after (one measure after?) Audiobus is moved to the background.

That is very strange. I’ve never heard of that happening to anyone. I can only think that it has something specific to do with SetList Maker, but I can’t think why if it doesn’t happen with AUM.

    Pinging @Michael
