It's called Nest I think, it was teased on Instagram a while back.

Oh right - I remember that from earlier this year. I totally forgot about it.

Here's the manual for it: https://downloads.sugar-bytes.de/manuals/Nest.pdf

It looked complicated. Not sure I could handle it at the moment. I'm still in therapy having recently gone through the agony of teaching myself "BeatCutter"...

Looks like a virtual Lunetta. Least they could have done was acknowledge they’re ripping off Stanley Lunetta and the online community. Seems strange not to.

  • i have heard a rumor of a new app, coming out some time in the next year or two from a developer who makes iOS apps. It has potential to make sound, and when used with other apps, the possibilities are endless.

    Hahahahah thanks for the manual!

That manual was written by yours truly 😉When this thing is out I’d love to answer any questions about it. It’s really not as difficult as it looks, there’s just a few key concepts needed to grasp first.

Beatcutter is like rocket science, Nest is like general arithmetic ;)

    I'm hopeless at both.

It took a lot of study of Gav and Leo's videos (repeat viewings) but I finally got it and am now 90% sure of what I am doing in BeatCutter. I feel like I can actually drive it now.

But I love Sugar Bytes apps and I'm sure this is another winner.

  • @cem_olcay and @ElliottGarage are both working on different types of AUv3 apps to record, edit, loop, send, etc… cc automation. I’m super pumped about this.

  • I have seen rumours of a clip laucher in Drambo. I’m not sure about the rumour but i’m sure that it would be cool.

When is Nest going to be released? We first heard about it back in April 2021 (I think).

  • I’m hoping Apple releases Logic Pro for iPad along with iPadOS 15.

    Cool beans!! I'm very excited!

  • I’d have loved something like Nest 20 years ago when I had the time (and energy) to use and enjoy it.

These days my music making has to be in max. 15 minute chunks of time.

Stuff like Drambo sits unused. And the novation circuit becomes even more genius. Instant gratification is underrated!

By the time I get a big enough house for a little studio space and the kids don’t take 24/7 attention I’ll probably spend the time I could be making music having naps instead

Haha Yeah, I know what you mean. I keep looking at lovely hardware and then remember that I basically have 30 minutes on the sofa before I fall asleep to play with music stuff. If I try to do something when the kids are around they complain to their mm thatI'm playing computer games so they should be allowed to too!

Hello, just wondered if anyone had any choice gossip about exciting new apps on the horizon? Whatever happened to that Sugar bytes thing?

I think that the manual is still in reading mode:

    :disappointed:

hahahaha good to see @Gavinski working hard at that.

I actually ended up passing on that project due to my issues with my eyes etc. I did pass it on to someone who I am sure will do a great job with it though. Keep your eyes peeled. 👀

That is a shame, man I hope things get better for you soon. Big hugs from Italy!

Yeah that would be nice but I don’t think they would just drop it without any announcement.
Maybe next year there will be another “creative iPad” event in NY for that. Targeted at film makers and musicians with the release of the new M2 iPad Pro and Final Cut + Logic.
Or maybe they’ll wait for iOS 16 first so that there hopefully will be a proper multi screen support in place.

  • There was some discussion about Scaler for IOS. Not sure where development on that is, but the original discussion was back in May. I would certainly be excited for that.

Yea forgot about this one, seemed like it could still be awhile but who knows…

That's the dream, I guess. At this point, I'd settle for something like "GarageBand Pro"... meaning, keep the simplicity of GarageBand with some of the customization options from Logic Pro (such as mix and match drum kits and a real multichannel mixer for a little more professional recording setup).

On another thread on the forum someone said it wasn't going to happen. I think they had a screenshot from Twitter or somewhere from the dev saying it wasn't happening.

Just adding automation and a proper mixer would be a huge step forward for GarageBand.

A certain sampler many of you love is due for a huge upgrade. It’s one i never thought of buying since I already had Drambo, DigiStix, sEGments etc.
But it has become my favourite especially for drums and chopping samples..
    😊

Is it based on cute bear technology?

    They're not really bears...

    Cheers from Oz!
