I love the sound of Audio Modeling instruments. I do not love their app's implementation of an MPE keyboard and I especially do not like their app integration with GarageBand, which I find subpar. Is it possible for an AUv3 to integrate tightly with GarageBand so it loads consistently on startup, uses the GarageBand keyboard for MPE control and loads reliably on export to render the final audio file? I think it's possible, but so few companies do it perfectly.

And why in the world is there not a state-saving option in the app for one's preferred DAW? Every time the apps are used it requires diving into multiple menus and guessing at the proper MIDI/MPE preset. Speaking for myself, I always and only use my AUv3 plugins in GarageBand in iOS. Why can't I set that as my default? Why can't another person set their preferred DAW as their default? This only seems logical to me.

I think the IAA version saves the midi configuration with the preset. The AU version saves the midi controls that I assign to various parameters, but not the midi preset that I chose. I have to do that every time I open it. It does seem annoying.

Hope they at least consider offering the option for people to set and save this preference.

Really poor, disappointing bundle, have to say. As an avid user of swam instruments. Been waiting a long time for this and unlike the comprehensive brass and strings sets, missing bass clarinet, alto and bass sax, flutes and piccolo, cintrabasson, English horn… they’ll need to update and add the other instruments to make it a pro usable set rather than just a sample.

I think this will come eventually. Maybe they didn't had enough time to release every instrument and tried to make a selection of the "most used" ones. Nevertheless, I still find fantastic that such incredible instruments have arrived on iOS.

    Hi,
I just get an answer from Emanuele at SWAM.
I asked him if we will have a Bass Clarinet eventually and he answerd that.

"Of course, all SWAM Solo Woodwinds that are currently available for desktop (see https://audiomodeling.com/swam-engine/solo-woodwinds/ ) will be also available for iPad.
For the Beta, we selected a small collection, it's enoungh for the purpose of the Beta Program.
The release of the complete collection is planned by the end of October."

    That's great news!

Ahhh thanks so much that is brilliant news. Love swam.

    Agree 100%!

Now we show some gratitude to the company behind Swam instrument!

gratitude lol. I love swam but .. they’re a company who I pay for excellent products. Not a fireman craning me out of a burning building. 😂

  • Speaking of which...
Check out this work of art uploaded by AudioModeling!
Loads of amazing things about this recording:

Anyone want to hazard a guess about how the SWAM parts were played?

  • Anyone else have problems with randomly not being able to get the in app Mpe keyboard to show up. Usually try to expand fullscreen in iPad Pro but most do the time it won’t show up. Does every now and then. Strange.

Think it depends on being able to size the screen properly, need to double tap on the header and/or pull down on the tab at lower right, then select from the menu at top right, agree its frustrating and fiddly
