iPad mic input question
Hi, I have a new 12.9” iPad M1. Since it has great speakers, I want to try sending my Maschine+ into the ipad and mix the built in soft synths in AUM with the output from the NI.
When I connect the normal TRRS splitter leads into the USB hub headphone socket, the iPad audio it routed to the headphone socket, so no audio via the speakers.
Is there an adapter that when connected to the headphone OUT will only take the Mic IN?
Or is there a better way of getting audio in to the iPad whilst still using built-in speakers?
Thanks.

You would need a usb audio interface with no output.
Something like this:

Perfect, thank you. Just ordered.
I see that machine+ is also a usb sound interface. If it is class compliant you might try that with audiobus. In audiobus there is an option to direct the sound output to the iPad output. (Allthough maybe only headphone output)
Hi, the Maschine+ is only an audio interface when in controller mode (controlling a computer), not in standalone. So this won’t work.
Also, just received my Behringer Line 2 USB and there is an awful background hum/buzzing from it. Googling it seems to point that the input gain is too hot, but that there is no way to turn this down on an iPad (only the output volume). Very annoying as I don’t think this solution will now work. I need to find something similar but with a gain knob on the interface. Anyone know of anything that may help me?
Rode SC6 ?

EDIT: Oops! You said M1 iPad Pro
Yes M1, with no headphone jack. In any case, plugging anything into a headphone jack would hijack the audio out, and I want to keep the built-in speakers.
If you could live with Headphones instead of the built-in speakers, Rode SC6 should work with Apple's $9 USB-C to 3.5mm adapter as SC6 has 2 Microphone inputs and 1 Headphones output.

On another note, I’ve tried these accessories along with EarPods due to some issue inside my VDI on a Windows laptop recently and it worked –
USB-A to USB-C Adapter <= Apple USB-C to 3.5mm adapter <= Apple EarPods

Hi all, I solved, I think, the issue in AUM. I didn’t realise that in the SETTINGS there is a Mic Input gain setting, which defaulted to 75%. Turning this down to about 30% solved the hissing issues whilst still giving just about enough output volume.
There I was thinking the Behringer cables were poor quality (which they may be!) but its a useable scenario.
@johnrob66
Glad to hear that it works for you. Behringer is cheap quality, yes.
At least this solution samples in 16 bit stereo.
I am curious if you can switch the samplerate to 48000? Or is it fixed to 44100.
