Noob Question: (midi maping) How To Change Presets On Synth With Launchpad?
I use my LPX with AUM and it's a wonderful match. But I really don't know how to change preset with my Launchpad. I can map a lot of things, but not the presets change.
And I'm not sure to understand the difference between program change and cc number. I only use cc number on my custom template on my LPX.

So I guess there is not solution
It is such a vague question. You can set up your Launchpad to have custom configurations so that the pads send pretty much whatever you want.
Whose presets are you trying to change?
Midi program change and Midi cc are two different types of messages. Typically program change messages are used to tell a device to change a patch. Midi cc are messages with two pieces of information, the controller number and it’s value. They are often used to control things that you would control with a knob or fader … but not always.
I just want 2 pads maping of my Launchpad to naviguate up and down the presets of Zeon. I just don't know how to map the "change preset". It seems that there is never this option with any synth in AUM.
Is your question: " is there a way to midi map next and previous preset for zeeon in AUM?"
There isn't a way to do that that I know of. Zeeon doesn't have a midi-mappable next/previous preset command.
FWIW, program change commands just send a number. In most cases, if a MIDI receiver supports receiving program changes, the switch to the preset whose number you send. There isn't a general purpose next or previous preset command.
If you want to send program changes from yiur launchpad, you either need to set up a custom page with Launchpad's editor or use something like streambyter or mozaic to translate the messages your Launchpad is already sending into program change messages.
Yes, exactly. I cannot find a synth that allows that. Thank you for your answer. English is not my mother tongue so my question are not always precise, but you did a great job of rephrasing what I wanted to say!
Montreal_Music, the reason the question isn't easy to answer is there isn't any consistency between apps when it comes to support for changing presets via MIDI. Some don't support preset changes at all. Some use Program Change, a specific type of MIDI message that is similar to a CC, but different. Some use a combination of "Bank Select" and Program Change to provide access to more presets. Some support Program Change, but make you save presets into a particular folder to select them, etc. etc. etc.
One thing that might be an answer for you is to use AUM's built-in preset load capability. This can be MIDI mapped to any message from any controller. The downside is, if the app doesn't expose its presets properly to AUM, you have to save them in AUM's preset management system. The other downside is you have to map each preset selection manually. This solution is alright if you just want to be able to switch between presets you've already decided on using your controller. It's no use if what you really want to do is to be able to browse through all the presets on a synth using your controller.
I hope that makes sense.
Yes, thank you. My question was not clear because I did not know at the time that I did not know a couple of basic midi things. Now I know.
