GarageBand Model 15 Integration
Just saw this article on the App Store. Looks like Model 15 now built into GB. https://apps.apple.com/us/story/id1302502449. I might be misreading tho,..

It’s a bit worrying that they only mention three apps, skipping Model D. Hope they’re not going to drop it, it’s fabulous.
And they only mention, very specifically, Animoog for iPhone vs. just Animoog. Probably just a poorly written story by someone who doesn’t ‘love music” and isn’t “already a huge Moog fan”.
Isn’t this just talking about loading Model 15 as an audio unit? When was this published?
That’s what I was wondering. I wish Apple would put a published date on these articles. And the article does make it sound like the Moog app is built directly into GarageBand, rather than just the option to load it as a plug-in.
So this might actually be an old article, predating Model D, and isn’t about some dedicated GB synth, just loading the app as AUv3. Phew…
Don’t think they have special connections. They just decided to use the API’s Apple provided since iOS 11 to scale cleanly into GB. For a while, not many devs have done this and in fact some lobbied against it
Lets see if Gavin pops in with something to say, he frequents these forums.
If you're in GarageBand and you slide over to the "External" Instrument, then press Audio Unit Extensions there is a link at the top labeled "Find more on the App Store" - you'll see a bunch are featured here and Model 15 is shown quite prominently. This has been here for a LONG long time, the list seems to update every now and again but for sure there's no direct integration between Moog and Apple.
I think the Moog apps and Moog brand is really well known so it's a win win for both companies to be featured in a way like this.
It's promoting Moog apps and specially mentioning how awesome it is to use the Moog Model 15 application in Garageband. Which I agree. That's an insane app.
Is this an old article though?
Looks to me that the 3 apps mentioned are moog’s iPhone apps, since the article is on the iPhone App Store- that would explain model d not being mentioned.
Also, it mentions a special” simplified interface” especially for use in GarageBand. This would be great news imo, since the default interface is super complex; at least for me…
The screenshots are of the AUv3 plugin interface, and the steps they describe to use it are how you add an AUv3. It's just AUv3 support described for a non-technical audience, probably dating back to when AUv3 was new.
Model D is available for iPhone. Though it may not have been in the past.
