Following my demo of the presets in Vintage Rack, by Igor Vasiliev, @Sabicas asked if I would contribute a comparison of the Spring Reverbs available in Vintage Racks. There are 10 different types of Spring Reverb in Vintage Racks and each can be used in Normal Mode or Dark Mode, as well as having control over Treble, Bass, Pre-Delay and Presence (the amount of the effect).

Sabicas sent me the wav file of him playing the guitar clip he used for his comparison so I loaded that into AUM File Player for this demo.

    Hope you find it useful.

Thanks! I imagine these are impulse responses as there’s a lot of overlap with the developer’s other app, AltiSpace 2.

Eos2 has spring reverb code by valhalla, it is a very nice sounding reverb.

I’ve been searching and can’t find where to get this.

It does not emulate a spring reverb. The Sean Costello code is a hall reverb simulation.

There’s a spring Reverb in BYOD (free) and a couple springs in Tone Stack Pro (IAP) and the Befaco Spring emulation module in miRack

I’ve already included BYOD in my upcoming video. Do you have either of the other two?

I am considering MiRack for Valley Plateau, is the Befaco spring any good?

  • Some tonestack amps have an integrated reverb too. But you will be hearing the amp sim too

  • So sorry for the misinformation I was spreading. Yes, it was plate instead of spring reverb in Eos2, using the valhalla code.

It is Sean Costello's code which I think he developed on commission for Audio Damage before starting his own company

It is most definitely Sean’s code for the plates. But it is not the same as Valhalla at all.

  • Why in the world don’t we have the Valhallas on iOS. That would be the day.

Just a wild guess, that they might tax an iPad to their limit.

    This, in a nutshell:

  • I'm in love with the spring reverb at 18:00.

I guess "Strings" is my best option?

You mean Springs as in the AudioThing app? Timeverb from GSI is also very good.

Thanks! I think I have too many apps and not enough knowledge about them.

I don’t think there’s a spring in EOS2, only plate, correct me if I am wrong.

I did not find the spring reverb in Eos2.

No, that’s what I thought, it has three plates and a hall, I don’t own it. But I do own AudioThing Springs and if you are after a spring reverb then this will be heaven. It has a lot of different springs models, most vintage stuff. Lots of settings. Anything Audiothing brings on the market is top quality, you can’t go wrong with Springs.
