I picked up Speakers, Springs, Lines, and WoodValvet…just waiting on Fabfilter now…ProR2 and Twin 3 🤞🏼oh and drumcomputer…

Will Pro R2 go on sale so soon after they just brought it out? I'd be surprised, but who knows.

    dunno…but I might think so!

  • I know the Klevgrand sale has already been mentioned, but Grand Finale 2 for $4.99 is a new low and sure to be of interest to some - https://apps.apple.com/app/id6444091341

AUM is on sale now. I already have a Loopy Pro and using it for small projects up to 10 channels/tracks.
I'm not familiar with AUM and I'm not sure it would serve my purposes any better. Is there anything it can do that LP can't?

I also own Loopy and not AUM and I think I'll stay with Loopy since I'm mainly composing and almost never improvising or doing live sutff. I agree with the response above, AUM is good for live performances, complex midi/au routing but except for some very complex cases I feel like Loopy can do almost everything which AUM can also do. That said AUM UI is very nice if you just want to just start jamming, probably worth the price itself? I think so 😏

on desktop it is, even the upgrade is reduced now on the FF site, so I might bite now

for new customers (desktop) everyplugin.com might be the best place to buy (shows $106.24 atm)

iOS sale doesn't seem to have started yet (I think, doesn't look like), might be interesting if there's an upgrade offering too

Out of interest, what is the upgrade from R to R2 cost on desktop? It would be amazing to have an upgrade price for ios. It wasn't all that long ago I bought the bundle. Not spending 40 bucks on R2 would be nice.

depends on what you already have, mine is 44,36 € (was 59,15 € before the sale)

bought the FX Bundle last summer, ten plugs

How complex is mKer. I was on the beta but never dove deep because of initial learning cure, the developer planned to add features that would make it more intuitive, but the beta is over. It feels like a great deal $3.99 for a multitrack sequencer. So what y’all think?

Just scooped it and loving it. Feels like it was made to pair with AUM. And the offset nudge for every step is what I’ve been asking from the Octachron dev for months, now I can stop bugging him hahaha

I'm not a fan myself. I tend to like the Klevgrand releases that are a tad more kooky. Their releases that venture down the analog emulation alleyway, I most often find underwhelming. Luckily, they don't produce too many workhorse analog emulation releases these days. :)

  • Thank you @craftycurate and @unlink for your responses. I think I'll stick with Loopy Pro for a while.

I'm not familiar with AUM and I'm not sure it would serve my purposes any better. Is there anything it can do that LP can't?

AUM has a different focus and works differently from Loopy Pro though there is some overlap.

Think of AUM as a multitrack framework to bolt your plugins together ... create instrument tracks, add effects to them, create mix buses to create a signal flow, and channel everything to your main output. Route MIDI between your apps.

AUM really excels as a live performance and improvisation tool, If you want audio tracks, MIDI tracks, looping, those have to be added in via plugins but this can be done easily using AUv3 and other plugins, and it's possible to create a wide variety of setups and workflows depending on your creative process and goals.

I have been recommended aum so many times but I don’t know how I personally could use it myself. The only workflow I’ve developed was in ZB3 (DAW), bm3 and dRambo. It also seems to be for people who really use a lot of Fx chains and plugs ins , and I don’t really use that much. I have wanted it for a year but now that I started working more on mac idk if I would see use.

I see a big hardware emphasis and I use mainly external hardware a lot now, hence dRambo. Does it allow you to connect hardware better? Like if I wanted to connect three or four audio and midi interfaces to my iPad with a physical hub would it allow that to work somehow so you can send tracks audio to Cubasis or something ?

I guess I’m trying to understand the mixer, hardware and ways it’s used. And most of all if a hub with more than one interface can be configured so let’s say dRambo can sequence hardware, and send audio tracks to Cubasis through aum? And if I’m not making sense then plz lmk thx

  • AUM is incredibly flexible and should do what you ask depending on the interfaces you use. I haven’t tried anything so complex with it though. It’s worth getting it to learn in anticipation of the timeline that’s been promised. If the studio’s an instrument then AUM definitely deserves a place in your arsenal.

  • Zenbeats unlocks and select add-ons are half off in-app.

  • What are some must have apps to pair with AUM? I'm interested in experimenting with some generative MIDI, but I also want to be able to do standard sequencing.

Looking at whats on sale right now, there are Cem Olcay's Bud apps, mLFO, mKER, and ZOA. Not on sale yet, but I also have my eye on Rozeta Sequencer Suite, Fugue Machine, TATAT, and LFOH! I also see ApeMatrix paired with it all the time, does it open up the routing possibilities enough to be an insta-buy? Which of these would you recommend to get started?

At some point I want to get AUBE, but there are so many other apps I want to get on this sale that I think it will have to wait.

I would love to hear any other suggestions!!!!

  • Nothing against any daw or host out there but AUM transformed my music making in so many ways. I didn’t get it immediately but eventually I saw the value and haven’t looked back. Host/DAW/Workflow is definitely a personal preference, but aum makes complex midi and audio routing a breeze. You can read my glowing review about it if you are in the States, it’s on the App Store

They are on sale now! Pro bundle has not changed price (for me), but all the individual apps are discounted ~20-40% off, including Pro R2.

  • @onlydeals Check out Audiomodern apps. Not sure if they still do the occasional modest discount, but their apps are very reasonably priced - https://apps.apple.com/developer/id1435691908

A few other notables are Atom 2, Xequence 2, and SAND.

  • All the Fabfilter apps are on sale. Pro-R2 is I think $10 off at $30.

Does ElasticFX do anything that KoalaFX, popsicle, EG effects, don’t already do? I own and love all his other apps and have always been tempted by this one but it seems like between Koala and Popsicle I can do most of what it can unless I’m missing something?

Seems to have the most number of effects. Also does automation like popsicle(?). 4x simultaneous. Can’t speak to the quality of any of them (don’t own), but EFX looks the most tempting of all at first glance.

  • @telecharge Thanks for the recommendations, these look amazing! I'm going to need to watch some youtube videos and do some prioritizing.

Audiomodern iOS apps may not be discounted any time soon. I contacted the company during their desktop sale, and the reply was that "our iOS apps are already heavilty discounted."
