@onlydeals 👍You might want to search the forum if none of those float your boat. Here's one thread with more app ideas - https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/38375/2020-current-best-sequencers-generative-apps-for-ambient-music
@craftycurate Thanks for the info. Nice that they still offer their bundle, though.
With rough being the operative word.
But as you say, it's only a fiver. But come the end of Black Friday/Cyber Monday madness, that may be the fiver you wish you'd held back for a more deserving cause.
Just saw that…. I’m seriously debating
AUM is the best music app ever… that is all
If you don’t have it, kick your self
I never thought I needed it either before I got in to it
Now it all I use pretty much
Love TapeOp! They still (and always) give a free subscription for the first year, no obligation beyond that as long as you cancel before it’s up. Also , there’s the “full box set” available too, on sale at $99 one time for the whole digital archives including new issues for as long as the magazine exists.

It’s in my top 3 iOS reverbs. Sounds very organic and lush and “real” in ways no other iOS reverb really does for me. The DDMF modeling is really really good.
Yeah I would be lost without AUM lol it’s where over half of my music making takes place. It just makes everything so easy. Even more seemingly complex routings feel easy.
Thanks. The more I look at it the less I feel like I need it but it would be interesting to see them compared. I love all of his other apps so I’m sure it’s great, but unless I’m missing something idk if it does anything my other apps can’t.
Nuff said as far as I’m concerned lol
(I see people using it a lot with the OP1 field too)Thx
How is Volt Synth? I’ve never really looked super deep into it so I never realized it was MPE comparable. It also has an handful of other really cool features. Anyone using it? $4.99 is probably the lowest I’ve seen it go.
I wish they would release their Mastering bundle on iOS:

If you suck at mastering as I do, it's totally worth it. I generally do more harm than good when try I use even the best-in-class individual apps. I can throw Grand Finale on a mix and get results noticeably better than the original in no time. It's the only app that I use for what passes for "mastering" at my skill level.
If you're relatively skilled at mastering and have favorite tools already, you're probably not going to be very happy with the comparative results. On the other hand, you'll probably save a lot of time.
@jonmoore @wim Thanks, guys.
☝️ Agree with the above (wim about GF2).
I agree it sounds great from what I’ve heard. If I didn’t have Trinity I’d be all over though I am tempted just to be able to throw it on a mix bus in AUM.
I dig the sound a lot based on the videos I’ve seen and also the “Wobulator “
Same here, but the opposite. I'd definitely get Trinity if I didn't already have Grand Finale.
I think it really depends on you and what you like using. One app that's missing there is Atom2, which is very useful if you want a piano roll in aum. A few of Cem's apps are very useful definitely, also Zoa and Ooda. I find myself using Tatat a lot recently, though it has that bug where you need to 'reset' the ratio control right at the beginning of the session in order to keep it in time, which is super annoying.
Apematrix is not paired with AUM btw, not that I've seen anyway, it's more an alternative to it, they're both hosts. You'd really need to watch some videos on them or read the manuals to compare them. The inbuilt modulation in apematrix is fantastic and I really feel at times I should switch to ape because of it.
All in all, my advice would be don't buy too much stuff at once, buy things one at a time, get to know them, understand the limits they are imposing, use those limits as guiderails for creativity rather than getting frustrated by them, if possible. Then, move on and buy another app that will help you expand in new directions. This is the way! I wish I had done that when I started instead of buying a bunch of different stuff, most of which I never learned to use despite best intentions to the contrary.
Thanks for the words of wisdom, and the heads up on Apematrix! I thought you could use it in AUM to open up more routing. I will definitely take a closer look, but I've already purchased AUM so I'm going to take that on first.
I am a bit overwhelmed with the possibilities already, I suppose I'm not really sure how I want to use AUM exactly, I'm rather hoping I'll fall into a groove/workflow after using it for a while. I've played around with it for an hour or two now and I'm pretty sure I need to purchase some kind of sequencer right away, but I don't know if I would be better off going for a piano roll, a simple step sequencer, or a generative sequencer of some sort. My instincts lean towards piano roll, but then again I imagined I would be using AUM in a completely different way than standard DAWs like Logic Pro, so I may have to go against my instincts.
I need to do some soul-searching and watch a lot of YouTube videos. May even crack a manual if I manage to find an app that you or Doug at TheSoundTestRoom haven't covered in depth (which can't be many at this point). It feels like Rozetta Suite may be the safest first purchase, but it's not on sale so I'm in no rush to pick it up.
Thanks again for all you do for the IOS music community. You led me to the Audiobus forums in one of your videos, and as we all know there is no looking back once you jump into the Audiobus rabbit-hole, as there is simply no better source of info on IOS music production apps. Except maybe Gavinski's Tutorials and TheSoundTestRoom...
Lots of good information in that thread, thanks for the link. Definitely going to need to spend a good chunk of time looking through the forum and watching YouTube videos, there are so many options.
