Alright, yeah that's about the same as the Swedish price converted.
Okay, good to know. I was calculating with the Swedish sales tax (25% Moms) but I also thought the original price was 399.
Was it worth it? Really curious about the IR.
US Appstore prices are excluding VAT, SE Appstore prices are with 25% moms included.
The price tier steps are also a bit whacked out.
For me it was Pro-R 2's ducker, gate , plate & vintage modes that 'sold it', there's enough difference compared to the original Pro-R and they make it more 'fun' to use. Wish it could also do shimmer (Ie. feeding back a pitch-shifted reverb output back into the reverberation loop).
The IR thing is not 'Real IR'. What it does is a time/frequency analysis of the selected impulse file on import and creates editable curves. I wouldn't say it's a 100% accurate representation of the IR file but close and remains fully editable.
Take the desktop demo for a free spin, that is what I did before I bought it for the iPad.
For me, it’s finally a complete version of Pro-R, two new algorithms and IR conversion would be enough already. But there are a lot of new things. I’m not ready to review it yet, I need more time and practice. Also, I've already converted all of my IRs, it works phenomenally.
Ah, yes, the new version takes 0.2% more CPU power compared to the old one.
Agreed. Use it on all my drums tracks.
Just about to share that one.
Does it compare at all, to the now unavailable Beatformer app. I like to stick that on drums, it has been removed from the App store, so I might need to upgrade to Knock. Any thoughts?
Very interesting to know. Yea the sales tax in the states isn’t show on the App Store. But it is included in final purchase cost.
Do you have any fave IRs? I also converted the Waves ones ready for when I get Pro-R 2. (I'd love the Wendy Carlos EMT Plate from altiverb, although no way I know to convert them, so I'll have to do an appropriate recording using it instead I guess)
Wasn't trying to be a d*ck. Only disappointed VintageRack wasn't $7. Cheers ✌️
I only just saw this for the Ultimate Guitar App.
Expires in 55 minutes.
Capturing IRs is so easy. Just send a Dirac pulse through the EMT Plate at unity gain and record the output to a file. Trim. And Bob's your uncle. You have a copy of the IR to use elsewhere. Here's another short tutorial with a link to dirac files. http://www.noisetime.com/impulsecreation.html
If I had to choose only 1 app from Igor Vasiliev, which one would you recommend ?
It's crazy, I already have plenty of apps but I realize I still have no app from major and highly praised devs like Igor Vasiliev, BramBos, BeepStreet, FabFilters and probably many others. Still I have the impression to have already far enough...
Every time there’s a response in this thread , I get excited hoping ButterSynth went on sale 😂
@Paulo164
Some of his apps are a little complex so it depends on what you’re looking for, I have close to half of them but based off what I’ve heard… all are great options, you can not go wrong with Synthscaper LE for $1.99. It’s pretty great, lots of sounds included, 3 layers, and random patch making. I’d say get that, for $2, (well worth $2) then consider another, lol.
@Paulo164 If you're interested in an effect, then AltiSpace2 is an amazing reverb.
Heck yeah 😎 may finally pick up Solo Trumpet. Almost pressed buy the other day but decided to wait just in case. Looks like I made the right call.
All good. I made the edit when you posted. 👍 I was hoping that "looks like" would be a sufficient disclaimer that I hadn't checked every app price, but I was wrong. Sorry to have misled you (or anyone else).
Yeah I’m not sure why LE is AUV3 and that isn’t. Maybe LE was AUV3 from the start and it’s too much work to change the first one? I’m not sure.
Wow I can’t imagine having no Igor, Bram, or Beepstreet apps 😂 it would be very hard to only choose one but NoInput is really amazing work. Effects wise I actually find myself reaching for VintageRack the most.

This is my own opinion but SynthScaper is the finest of Igor's apps. He makes a lot of genius apps, most of which are fantastic for making crazy noises and sowing chaos, but SynthScaper is eminently playable and makes beautiful sounds. It's capable of the best of MPE-style sounds even though it isn't technically MPE. For me, it does for synth sounds what Thumbjam does for sampled instruments and it's like Shoom but deeper and frankly better overall. Those are all IAA apps but there are no AUv3 apps I have encountered that rival them in terms of playability and musical character using just an iPad screen (GeoShred comes close but really needs a UI overhaul). Again, it's my personal opinion...but if you were to own any IAA apps, SynthScaper is more than worthy. Note: Synthscaper LE is worthy as an AUv3 and shares a lot of sounds but I believe it doesn't offer you the playing surface when hosted so that's a terrible loss for me.
(^ also my answer to @Paulo164 )
Thanks, appreciated. I kind of knew that but hadn't done it, but useful to have a specific reference, thank you
I do like it rough, dirty and raw and you are more of a gourmet I guess 😂 BeatCutter is his best in my opinion but all the instrument apps has their own qualities. I will, after your fine words, give it a serious try and I'll skip the refund either way, as a token of appreciation for his work if nothing else.
SugarBytes is on sale.
I think it’s a no brainer at this price point to add to the tool kit. Even if just used to spit some decent sounding mixdowns for demos. Much better than the new Logic Mastering Assistant in my humble one.
I was starting to feel the same way the last time I used it. Glad you brought it up and I like the way you put it!
It's not yet showing online. Are you seeing it in the App Store app?
@Cambler Thanks for the Grand Finale 2 nod.
Yep
Hoping Beat Scholar for iPad will go on sale. The desktop version currently is.
Any day now, I am envisioning Drambo going on sale. And then I will finally join the cult. I know it went on sale last BF. Hell, if it doesn’t end up going on sale, I may still buy it. I’m so curious.
Which country’s App Store? Not seeing it in the US.
