    SugarBytes is on sale.

It's not yet showing online. Are you it in the App Store app?

    Yep

Which country’s App Store? Not seeing it in the US.

    Not in AppRaven either.

As mentioned all Igor Vasilev aka iMusicAlbum apps are 33% to 50% off. Photo for list.

If I had to choose only 1 app from Igor Vasiliev, which one would you recommend ?
It's crazy, I already have plenty of apps but I realize I still have no app from major and highly praised devs like Igor Vasiliev, BramBos, BeepStreet, FabFilters and probably many others. Still I have the impression to have already far enough...

My recommendation would be NoInputMixer, I don't even have to think about it, it's head and shoulders the most interesting and most fun to use imo

Wow I can’t imagine having no Igor, Bram, or Beepstreet apps 😂 it would be very hard to only choose one but NoInput is really amazing work. Effects wise I actually find myself reaching for VintageRack the most.

Vintage Rack is another good one, sound quality is much much better than most multi fx apps. It depends though whether you use multi fx apps or not. Personally I found I prefer to make my own fx chains from scratch every time from standalone apps, but everyone has different preferences in that regard

AppRaven can take quite a while to update on its own, though usually going to the listing does force a price update (no idea if this is relevant!)

  • All SessionBand and Quartet Apps by UK Music Apps Ltd. are Only $2.99

  • DroneLab Holiday Sale making it an additional $1 off down to $.99

  • Sugar Bytes apps not yet discounted in the USA App Store. However midnight to 2am often seems to be a time when sales go into effect. Not always but it could be coming. Just not around the entire world yet.

I’ll probably check in the morning then. Hopefully if iOS apps are on sale that extends to desktop too.

  • Sugar Bytes be poppin' now. Must be a regional rollout like the olden days.
    https://apps.apple.com/developer/id614418826

    Cubase sale, too.

  • Cubasis on sale for $24.99
Saving my money for ButterSynth though lol

  • edited November 2023

Cubasis is 50% off, both 2 and 3.

I was beaten to the punch! Nice work, I was too slow

  • If you want sugar bytes unique synth and have iPad, buy the iPhone app. Same, just cheaper, click to stretch. Sorry if wrong about this

  • @HeavyWater thats exactly what I did. Only bought the iPhone one. And as far as I know, I’m missing nothing. It’s a functional PD synth for cheap.

Yep, I have them both, and the amusing thing is that the icons are nearly identical. I bought both before the days of au so that I could have multiple instances.

The newer jazz apps from this developer I think take a different approach. Like you can’t solo tracks so much. But I think with sale it’s time to dive in, record what I like. Musicians are Pro. Play. Sample. Repeat

  • I have a lot of samples, mostly drum and glitch one shots, risers, impacts, etc. I thought Egoist might be a good option to make them into glitchy tracks, but now I’m realizing it only does loops, not one shots. Should I get Egoist or is there something that might be better for my use case?

  • SGA Phoenix & Kompresor on sale now

You can do it. Egoist has something like a stepsequencer. Let some gaps between the events.

    I’ve paid 34,99 €.

Alright, yeah that's about the same as the Swedish price converted.

    @Samu said:
    Regional AppStore prices use the 'price tiers' $39.99 = 499SEK and $29.99 = 399SEK.

    It's nuts I know...

Okay, good to know. I was calculating with the Swedish sales tax (25% Moms) but I also thought the original price was 399.
Was it worth it? Really curious about the IR.

For me, it’s finally a complete version of Pro-R, two new algorithms and IR conversion would be enough already. But there are a lot of new things. I’m not ready to review it yet, I need more time and practice. Also, I've already converted all of my IRs, it works phenomenally.

Ah, yes, the new version takes 0.2% more CPU power compared to the old one.

Do you have any fave IRs? I also converted the Waves ones ready for when I get Pro-R 2. (I'd love the Wendy Carlos EMT Plate from altiverb, although no way I know to convert them, so I'll have to do an appropriate recording using it instead I guess)

Yes, of course. I love old-school hardware reverb devices like the Lexicon 480L, H3000, Roland, EMT, vintage springs, etc. Also, personal secret ones, recorded at secret locations, and so on, haha! Recording IRs digitally is more simple than on location in real places, just make impulse transients that involve a wide range of frequencies. My favorite IR was made with a handclap and a little Zoom H2n.

  • I hope Modartt go on sale !

  • Brazilian Drum Machine by Lumbeat (!)

    $17.99 -> $12.99

Finally got SynthScaper, the only one I didn't have. Now, over to try it out. 😁
EDIT: Wtf! It's not AUV3, the LE version is so I took that for granted, how stupid of me... Refund (I think)

This is my own opinion but SynthScaper is the finest of Igor's apps. He makes a lot of genius apps, most of which are fantastic for making crazy noises and sowing chaos, but SynthScaper is eminently playable and makes beautiful sounds. It's capable of the best of MPE-style sounds even though it isn't technically MPE. For me, it does for synth sounds what Thumbjam does for sampled instruments and it's like Shoom but deeper and frankly better overall. Those are all IAA apps but there are no AUv3 apps I have encountered that rival them in terms of playability and musical character using just an iPad screen (GeoShred comes close but really needs a UI overhaul). Again, it's my personal opinion...but if you were to own any IAA apps, SynthScaper is more than worthy. Note: Synthscaper LE is worthy as an AUv3 and shares a lot of sounds but I believe it doesn't offer you the playing surface when hosted so that's a terrible loss for me.

    (^ also my answer to @Paulo164 )

Thanks to everybody for the advice !
@oddSTAR i appreciate the very personal view you have on even a non AU synth.
I also think that AU is not everything and the latest app from a dev is not necessary always the best one. The best ideas have often arisen from the very early iOS synths.
So I am considering Synthscaper (however, is there something the LE version cannot do, even in standalone mode)… as well as Nave because it’s classy to own something from Waldorf ! 😆 if only it could encourage Waldorf to come back to iOS…

Nah, they did a Black Friday sale last year, so finger crossed.

Uwyn LLC has released ShowMIDI as a free download
It’s an open sourced multi-platform application that allows you to visualise MIDI activity

this is a very good MIDI monitor for MPE and other controllers that have multiple streams of CC’s. Actually it is the first one that restricts its monitoring to single numbers per CC instead of displaying the entire streams. On PC it was released recently, and I’m glad it is on iOS as well now.

Hi! Do any of you know if StepPolyArp tends to go on sale for black friday? Thanks

Seems not. This is easily checked on appsliced.co btw, super useful

Thanks so much for the info! I will check out appsliced😃

Appsliced sounds good. But it doesn’t tell me why I need to create an account with them. Did I overlook this? Where can I find out more?

Personally I think AppRaven lifetime purchase is a better buy if you're a heavy app collector. Appsliced doesn't show you IAPs for sale within the app, you have to set up email alerts for those. Appsliced allows you to see at any given time all iaps on sale for any apps, all filterable, of course
