Teraverse version 1.2.2 released

Added a search function for the presets. This is much easier than browsing through all of the folders and sub-folders. Search for "organ" and up comes a list of every preset that includes "organ" in the name.

Ah, nice! Wish every app with presets had a search bar

Amen, brother! Any sort of search functionality is always appreciated with so many great patches and sound packs available for many synths. I really love the preset browse and search functionality in Synthmaster One and Two from KV331 Audio. You can filter by instrument type, attributes, author, and bank, in addition to search.

Anyway, big kudos to Harry for this quick enhancement to Teraverse. Now I am asking him to add MIDI CC assignments to each of the "stars" so that I can tweak parameters using my controller instead of the iPad screen.

  • I bought it for the variety of interesting sounds... I'm running it inside AUM (because I can). Some presets seem to go ballistic when you play a note and the only way to get rid of the loud "white noise" (?) is to change the preset. BTW, the sound is deafening and would be unsafe if you were listening through headphones. It's the sound you get when AUM's DSP overloads, but AUM's numbers are only in the low 30s. I'm not sure what to make of it. After this happened, I lost the waveform display too. The waveform display came back after reloading the app in AUM.

The sounds are fantastic! I can easily see this being the go-to for any drone/ambient backgrounds.

I'll keep watching here for any observations about this. I always tend to believe I'm doing something wrong or perhaps don't understand what's going on.

A demonstration video would help the developer understand what might by going on or a step-by -step recipe with some information about your configuration. If this is connected to specific presets, those would be worth mentioning.

Yes, that would be especially handy for KQ Dixie!

Thx. I’ll look into it. :)

Hmmm … “+1800 factory presets” pretty much rules out trying to find whichever one caused it. But if it happens again I’ll pay better attention and report what I know to the dev.

  • So this is a preset player for Tera correct? Does it offer any other features Tera Pro doesn’t have? Also do the patches include ones made with the IAPs?

If you have the IAPs in Tera Pro you will also get them in Teraverse. Teraverse has a kind of xy pad built in to the screen that allows quick manipulation of some parameters like filter cutoff etc. You'd probably get the gist from the appstore. No vids up on it?

  • One of the very cool features in TeraVerse is the ability to morph between any two presets using the mod wheel. I don't know if this is also available in Tera Pro (I only have TeraVerse).

  • Teraverse is really nice with MPE-friendly alternative controllers!

... implemented right after implementing a proper system to mark favourites. I agree with you.🙂

Ah gotcha. So kind of like SynthScaper/SynthScaper LE?

It would be nice to have just a preset player for Tera Pro bc the presets are great. I won’t be in a hurry to get this one but it’s on the list.

I haven’t tried that in Tera Pro. If not, that’s a cool feature!

I see in the settings that MPE can be used for pitch bend (in my opinion, not that big a deal vs. a pitch bend wheel). Does MPE drive any other parameters?

Only for presets that have other mpe parameters set up in their Tera Pro incarnations. In Teraverse you can enable mpe but you can't actually assign mpe parameters. Hence, the mpe experience with teraverse is hit and miss and a bit frustrating, frankly. But yeah, Tera Pro itself allows you to assign note off velocity, mpe timbre etc. Check the Tera Pro manual for full details.

That makes perfect sense and I think it was explained in another Teraverse thread if I had paid attention.

  • By the way, I heard from the developer that you can assign the stars (parameters) to any MIDI CC using the AUv3 version (not the standalone version). I just confirmed that this works great. There are 11 Audio Unit parameters that can be assigned to MIDI CC. I am enjoying this app more and more. Thanks again, Harry!

I hope I am using the right thread here. (First time poster!) I have Tera Pro with all the IAPs and just bought Teraverse. However, the app chrashes in the stand-alone if I try to load any of the FM7 presets - and makes no sound, if I load a Brainz preset. (It does not crash if loaded within AUM - just produces no sound with the IAP-presets.)

    Is this known bugs?

  • Hi,
Known issue, Teraverse not compatible yet with FM7 nor Brainz modules. An update to come has been announced by the dev (don’t know when, sorry).

  • Thanks! I thought so, but just wanted to be sure! I’ll just use it in AUM for now, stick to the plenty of great sounds that works, and keep my fingers crossed for an update soon.
