Anyone ever had issues with multiple output audio interface? RME Babyface FS Pro, vs Motu M4

EDIT: For moderator, This can be moved out of Loopy Pro, it's the same in AUM, it's not Loopy

Hello,

If I plug in my Motu M4 Loopy Pro instantly detects it has 4 outputs.

If I plug in the RME Babyface Pro FS which is really the one I want to use, it doesn't detect more than 1 and 2 outputs.

If I plug the RME Babyface Pro FS in to the Macbook then DAWs such as Ableton detect the multiple outputs.

Any thoughts as to how to troubleshoot this?

As is typical, I am firstly trying to achieve click to headphone out, separate to main outs, using the Babyface.

Thanks

  • Have you got the RME in class compliant mode?

Yes, I believe so? Hold down settings and dim while plugging in, right? Otherwise it isn't detected at all and audio emerges through the in built speaker. I'm getting audio, RME Totalmix recognizes it, I can do stuff in totalmix, but in the host app, (turns it this is in AUM as well so not a loopy pro thread), there is no showing up of more than 1 and 2. (L and R in Aum).

Yes, and the display should show "CC" on the meters.

I haven't got a Babyface any more (upgraded to a Fireface) but I remember there being an option to switch between stereo and 12 channel modes; maybe check the settings in TotalMix FX on your iPad? Otherwise try using Audio MIDI Setup on your MacBook to put it into the correct mode.

Yeah thanks for the advice, I had already tried 12 channel, which you would imagine would be the fix, but no change, I will see if setting up on one device and changing to the other has any effect
