Using AUM stem audio files and importing them into Ableton?

I have tried recording long 6-minute audio recordings, like adjusting filters and stuff in AUM and recording them as individual stem files. I then send them over Icloud to my desktop for arrangement and stuff. When I try to import them into Ableton Live, they get time stretched and somewhat ruin the sound. I always go back to doing a jam in AUM and record the mix as it sounds more natural..Are there any tricks or tips to make it better? Thanks as always..

  • Can you just turn off warping for each clip so that the original is retained?

Perhaps that's a good idea. :) It just seems the timing and things aren't the way I would want them to be. The start is kinda off and stuff.

There is a way to load files in Live without them being altered in any way. I don’t recall the specifics.

I gave to check into the prefs or something. Sometimes time stretch works wonders, other times it ruins the feel.

  • You can disable "warp" in the sample display. This works per sample.

    OR - always disable

    -Open Ableton’s Preferences.
    -Select the Record/Warp/Launch tab.
-Disable the button marked ‘Auto-Warp Long Samples’

  • thanks for the tips Royor :)

  • @Antos3345 You’re welcome.. I know warping is what Ableton is all about - BUT - sometimes we don’t need/want it for various reasons..
