    Hello
Is it possible to use one of these in-app Synths in Logic Pro for iPad or is it just useable in the ego system of cubasis? Thank you for your feedback.

    Hi @Telstar5

    No, both apps are independent.

    Hi @Pee102

The new instruments IAPs are exclusive to Cubasis.

    What the heck is this?

I bought the Halion synth, but can’t download it.
I have more than 100GB free space, internet connection is OK.
    M1 Pro 11”, ios17.2
    Ipad restart doesn’t help.

    @LFS , any idea?

Look at the few posts above yours. LFS explains how to fix it.

Oh, I didn’t notice the hint. Thanks!
Instead of restarting I switched to my wifi range extender which also helped.

This shouldn’t bother me as much as it does…. I’m still perplexed as to what crazy apple sdk weirdness is going on (assuming) that to download an iap, requires you to reboot your router or, as in my case and the post above, connect to an alternative access point.

I opted for the latter, could just imagine the conversation with my wife as she’s watching Netflix. I need to reboot the internet. Why? Because I want to download a lofi piano.

  • @LFS Once Cubasis 4 comes out, will the IAPs like Halion and such transfer over from Cubasis 3/converted LE?

  • edited December 2023

    is that router/reboot/vpn thing fixed?
i don't need any of those iap's, can i skip this update?
when i update from cubasis3 full, do i need to save my cubasis3 folder first ?

Nothing to fix. Just a glitch affecting a few people with the large download for the HALion IAP.

You can but there's no reason to. It fixes a lot of bugs and improves some things.

    No.

I did check out the videos, and they’re ok as far as they go but, for instance, I don’t know where I can find a complete listing. The samples I’ve seen are good, I was just looking for more complete info.

With regard to neo fm… are the 8 controls all the access we have to the engine? It seems like it’s mostly a tweak, rather than design instrument.

I feel I should make clear that none of these questions are This Is Bad! crits. Just looking to narrow things down, past the marketing.

Did you read the description? The HALion pack has 1100+. I’m not sure you’ll find a complete list of all of them and if you did are you really gonna read every one? lol and a demo of all of them? You’d be watching for hours.

That said, Steinbergs mobile music YouTube channel has half a dozen or so new videos about the update they go through a lot of the sounds. And Doug’s video probably demos 50+. Probably a lot more honestly.

  • @LFS Loving the new instruments especially the FM Lab port overs in Neo FM. Don’t miss out on the deals guys. Yamaha had a big hand in these. They are pretty special.

  • How big is Halion? I doubt I have the room for it but I wouldn’t mind knowing in case I somehow manage to get a new iPad sometime in the future.

Since you’re using it, maybe you can provide a clearer response. Is there any real editing capability in Neo FM? Or is mostly a collection of presets, with tweaking?

Thank you. I thought I scoured the posts but that eluded me.

  • No worries @MadeofWax - it took me some time to find it myself, and I had already read it when posted.

  • I’ve updated immediately to Cubasis 3.6 and bought all the new instruments. They sound amazing! Thanks, Steinberg!

@garden Mostly a collection of presets with some tweaking the operators are not exposed. However what you can change in all 4 new packages is pleasing on the ear.

    ,

We dont get this yet Cubasis is not one to one.

  • If your into house music all the instrument presets mentioned here are now on ipad!

  • I’m pretty much sold on the HALion pack. But how’s everyone liking the FM IAPs? I know we have plenty of DX7 stuff but is the TX81 pack worth getting? How unique is it?

  • @Jumpercollins Thank you very much. That was what I expected, but it’s helpful to see the confirmation.

It looks like FM Lab is similar to Nambu. Is that your experience?

+1 I bought the Halion pack, but I feel I have a zillion synth sounds already. Be interested in folk’s views on these

I’m waiting until after Christmas to buy but yeah definitely wanna hear from others how they like the FM sounds. It’s my favorite form of synthesis so it’s hard not to buy lol but I. Must. Resist.

@LFS: Can I easily go back and forth insofar as sharing files between Dorico for iPad and Cubasis in the same way I can see it’s possible between Dorico and Cubase?
When looking on the internet I can see the Dorico/Cubase connection but not Dorico/ipad to Cubasis 3 and back.

    Hi @Telstar5

There are no dedicated connections between both apps. What do you want to do?

    Thanks
    Lars
