Switchfoot fans UNITE!!!
I know we’re a minority here, but I wanted to make this thread to celebrate the amazing musicians, and band collectively called, “Switchfoot”.
(yep, their music was featured on the original Spiderman 2)
(even Apple got a piece of the Switchfoot pie…their music is at the beginning and end of the iPhone 5 video, and the band has performed at one of the earlier Apple stores)
It’s not very often a band can stay together for more than 20 years. And they’re one of the few acts brave enough to use iOS gears on their live performances night, after night. This thread is in honour of their album, “The Beautiful Letdown” and its 20th anniversary.
They’ve inspired artists like The Jonas Brothers,

Twenty One Pilots,
Seriously, this version of ‘Twenty Four’ by Tyler Joseph from Twenty One Pilots deserves a listen to appreciate it…
Lindsey Stirling
Jon Bellion,
and even Taylor Swift. Yes, the Taylor Swift.
(Here’s a young Taylor Swift doing a live performance of “Dare you to move”)
Worked with bands like Neverending White Lights, Creed, Collective Soul, Lifehouse…in other words, their backlog is insane.
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting the band 3 times within the past 2 years. I’ve only shared a few snippets of the tour, from behind the scenes, to live performances, but honestly…you need to be there to experience the entire thing. Their energy is insane.
Now, why the Loopy Pro forum? Well, the band makes use of a few iOS devices. Tim Foreman (Jon’s brother) actually took me behind the scenes to see his iOS setup.
But since this is in celebration of the band, I wanted to make this fun. Feel free to answer 1, 2, 3, all, or none of the questions…
- What are your favorite Switchfoot songs? What are your worst ones? What are your “meh” songs?
- What questions would you like to ask the band?
- What iOS app would you like to see them use on their live performances, and where? Drums? Bass? Synth? Vocals? Guitar?etc…
- What gear would you like to see the behind the scenes of?
- What live performances would you like to see videos of?
P.S: I’ll be dropping a Koala Sampler Switchfoot sample pack in this thread once we hit 20 responses.
Yep, in celebration of their 20th Anniversary. Also, happy Switch-mas
(Also, this is a fan/producer perspective. While I’ve done a few projects for Switchfoot based on my work, I am NOT affiliated with the band)
And as always, there’s no pressure to subscribe to my channel. I do appreciate it as it supports my future content, but feel free to mute notifications

Easily my favorite band. Nothing is Sound is the perfect album. Seen them 3 times.
It would be cool to see some more synth stuff from Jerome using iOS. I bet he could make some very cool stuff using some of the powerhouse synths on this platform.
The Tyler Joseph 24 is amazing, love that whole “cover” album.
Hard to say favorite song, nearly all of their albums I will listen straight through. But one very cool one is when Jon sings on “Deathbed” by Relient K.
Wow that's high praise. I had one of their albums back in the day (20 years flies by), but kinda forgot about them. I didn't realize they were still around.
Here's "More Than Fine" from their Toronto tour. I'll be posting short video highlights from the 3 shows I got to be a part of.
Great album choice. For me, I'm stuck between The Beautiful Letdown, and Hello Hurricane. Vice Verses snuck up because of "Dark Horses"
Yeah, Jerone is awesome. This year he used Ableton to control his sets. I gotta find the footage in Detroit to see if he changed his setup since that time.
Yeah, Tyler's version breathed new life into the song. I'm able to recommend it to music fans of the new generation and they are able to appreciate both Twenty One Pilots, and Switchfoot.
Yeah, it's incredible that they're still going strong, 20 years later.
