Harmoniser AUv3 recommendations?

Hello helpful people :)
I currently use Eventide Octavox on the Mac and am looking for a similar function on iOS.
Octavox is an 8 voice harmoniser (3 will do tbh) that does parallel harmonisation as well as harmonising within a defined key and scale and is MIDI controllable.
Thanks in advance :)

  • You might want to check out some iOS apps that support multi-voice harmonizing and MIDI control.

I think Qvox is the slightly less deluxe iOS version of Octavox, isn’t it?

  • Yonac's Zodiak Taurus Mega Octavizer works very well for me.

    that`s not a Harmonizer

  • Bleass Voices. You did not say what you wanted to harmonize

That is exactly my question - sorry if it does not read that way!

+1 it isn’t as natural sounding as I’d like it to be but it has low latency and is lightweight.

Although it’s still preferable to run dry signal in parallel otherwise the delay (even if slight) can be off putting.

“Select Key and Scale to create harmonies that coincide with your compositions or use the Learn button to set the key by the incoming note you play”
    🤷‍♀️

  • How about Kai Aras Harmonicer, it's 3 or 4 but, it's a midi effect. I'm not familiar with the app you mention so I hope I'm not too off target(?)

  • VirSyn Harmony Eight.

  • I've tried most of them. Bleass Voices and Harmonizr are my two favorites. Virsyn after that. I like the Eventide fx in general, but the harmonizer is my least favorite.

if only Harmonizr was still in the app store.

Isn't Crystals Harmoniser the same? Serious question as I have no tell on their history.

Edit: I see now that MicroPitch also goes under harmonizer

Harmonizr is a harmonizer plugin that lets you send midi notes to add pitch-shifted notes.

Eventide Crystals Harmonizer’s description describes something very different

“Harmonizer” is not really a well-defined name of a particular effect (like Phaser, Chorus, etc.)

I don’t know if Eventide coined the term, but they’ve been using it prominently since the ‘70s. And sometimes to describe somewhat different-sounding effects.

What people seem to be focusing on in this thread would probably most accurately be called a ‘Polyphonic Pitch Shifter with Scale Quantization’ or something like that. The closest thing (based on features, rather than names) in the Eventide iOS line-up is the QVox suggested earlier.

I would point out that Qvox is optimized for guitar players. If you want to harmonize vocals I would go with Bleass. I don't know if Qvox accepts midi control of harmony though.

Yeah I'm sorry Ed, I should have Googled and made some simple research, I'm a bit off balance and should probably just stop posting till I'm not. Apologies again (also sincere)

I’m not sure either. I know it has some basic MIDI control, but don’t know how extensive it is.

Just suggested it because the OP mentioned Octavox.
Then couldn’t walk away from some good old fashioned ‘harmonizer pedantry’ ;)

I probably should have said - this is for guitar rather than vocals.... Anyway, reading the blurbs, Bleass claim that Voices works for monophonic instruments also (like QVox) so that's good. QVox is definitely familiar to me - it's like a cut down version of QuadraVox (Eventide's 4 voice 'harmonizer') - the removal of features having the side benefit of making for a cleaner interface for the iOS environment I guess. Voices looks like it offers way more creative options including MIDI control of harmony with consequent complexity of interface, and pricewise it is £20/$20 vs £15/$15 for QVox so better value maybe.
Difficult to compare performance without buying both of course - comment re delay with Voices noted - I get delay with Octavox on the Mac also so I guess it's a feature of these devices exaggerated by interface latency. Parallel routing required as suggested.

PS loving the 'harmonizer pedantry' - I probably didn't help by spelling it 'harmoniser' to start with 😂.....
