SploshBox Reverb / Sustainer (AUv3)
SploshBox is an audio effect plugin that can run standalone, or in any AU compatible host application such as Logic or GarageBand.
Overview
SploshBox is vintage-flavoured digital reverb that also allows you to "freeze" the reverb tail for infinite sustain effects. The early generation of hardware digital reverbs had a slightly grainy and "unnatural" quality to them due to limited CPU and RAM. SploshBox has similar tonal characteristics, but while being kind to your CPU, it also features up to one minute of reverb decay time! Or, infinity when you engage freeze mode...
Parameters
Active - Toggles the effect On or Off. When SploshBox is turned Off, any reverb will continue to decay, similar to "trails mode" found in many effects pedals.
Delay - Sets a pre-delay time before the incoming audio is passed on to the reverb DSP. This can be used creatively so that the initial attack / transients of a sound are preserved and not "smeared" by the reverb tail for example.
Decay - Sets the overall decay time for the reverb tail. This is calculated as the time for a OdB impulse to decay to -60dB. Typically, unless the incoming signal is OdB, the actual decay time may appear a little shorter before it hits -60dB.
Spread - Sets the stereo width of the generated reverb from totally mono, to very stereo-tastic!
LPF - Sets the cutoff frequency of a lowpass filter on the generated reverb. Reduce this parameter to make the reverb effect warmer / softer.
Mix - Adjusts the balance between the dry incoming audio, and the wet generated reverb, from completely dry to 100% wet.
Freeze - Engages the reverb freeze effect so that whatever is in the reverb buffers will sustain continuously. By toggling Freeze in and out, very interesting creative and drone effects can be achieved, especially when assigning the parameter to a MIDI controller. Please note that when Freeze is On, reverb will not be applied to your dry input signal - it's as if the reverb is frozen in that moment. SploshBox does not store "frozen" audio between sessions, so if Freeze mode is On when restoring a session, you won't hear any reverb.
If the name sounds familiar, SploshBox is a version of the SPLOSHBOX module developed for Voltage Modular by Waverley Instruments.

Hi, here's a slightly improved (?) "freeze" mode demo for anyone interested. Cheers, -Rob

Sounding lovely Rob! So good to have you back on the horse 😊
Can I also say a big thanks for making these Mac compatible as well. I’m pretty much only purchasing auv3s that are desktop compatible nowadays so I’m not sandboxed on the iPad. Opening a project started on Logic for iPad on desktop Logic and having all the plugins transfer with it is an absolute joy.
That freeze function could be an interesting way to make some continuous background hum (I like to use that sort of stuff in techno).
Really amazing Techno as well.
I rarely pass on new reverbs… the sustain approach here is unique. For $2 it’s a no brainer.
Cheers Folks, so kind with the comments, and they really are much appreciated on this and other threads. Really don't want to be hogging the airwaves here today, but...
Just wanted to take the opportunity to say that if anyone is getting BAD SIGNAL! errors in AUM, apologies for that, I thought it was sorted, but there's a belt'n'braces fix (hopefully) awaiting approval (1.0.3) as we "speak".
So yeah... no more naughty numbers in the output buffers! Shame on me. Ahem.
I actually like this surprisingly a lot ! it has some unique character .. also I like simplistic interface..
I can see this as start of nice collection of simple effect with unique character ..
Please filtered/synced stereo delay next, with long decay :-) One has never enough simple reverbs and delays
@Rob_Jackson_Music Great app instant buy from me any chance you can expose the app in AUM as not seeing a midi connection and would like to modulate the LFO. The parameters are showing for Sploshbox but no midi destination in.

Hi @Jumpercollins, I'm afraid all of these new plugins are audio effects only, and they don't respond to any incoming MIDI messages, (edit: or implement MIDI learn themselves).
All of the parameters are exposed to hosts though, and they're all "smoothed" (even the on/off state) so they can be modulated via parameter automation instead.
@Rob_Jackson_Music Ok cheers Rob for letting us know wasn’t aware of that but no biggie.
You need to use Midi Ctrl in AUM to do that, not Midi Routing as you are trying to do in that screenshot!
