Not sure about the AUv3 - but there's a new drummer from Lumbeat

Seriously? He's putting out a new app without AUv3? Are you sure?
I'm not logging on to Facebook to find out.

If it really isn't AUv3, I hope no-one that cares about AUv3 for Lumbeats apps buys it no matter how good it is. That just sends the wrong message.

If I could figure how to embed the video here I would...all I could find to do was put in the link....

    His comment was

    "POP DRUMMER - COMING SOON
Some of you guessed it. Now it’s getting real.
Let’s see who’s ready to play."

I agree with you though, just another IAA app would be a huge disappointment....especially when I suspect, apart from a new GUI, the beats will all be achievable in the other apps for the most part.

  • Ahh, OK, he didn't actually say anything about it not being AUv3 then.
I'll be pretty surprised if it's IAA only.
If it's AUv3 I'll buy it whether I need it or not.

    Same, and same!

Yeah me too! Can always supplant rock and other drummers with an auv3 drummer!

Actually just realised I did not add the ? in the OP - following the tenor of the posts. As It was me questioning if it was or wasn't going to be auv3 :)

Tbh, it would probably be better to just change the title haha. Maybe something like 'Don't know if it's AUv3 yet'

  • My gut says it’s still going to be IAA. Hope I’m wrong!

Sadly I think I agree....After all the clamouring for Lumbeat to adopt it, I feel sure they would have been making more of it, if this app WAS AUv3

Or maybe they realized they could have 2 ways to generate free publicity about it:

    1. Announce it but don't say whether it's AUv3 or not, to get everyone writing posts panicking and pontificating about how terrible that would be
    2. Then release it as AUv3, generating posts about how fab it is that Lumbeat finally released an AUv3 😜

I've no idea. Do I remember his last release was the AUv3-updated iBassist? If so, isn't it likely this one will be too? It would be weird to go back to IAA after having already released an AUv3 app

Umm, mebbe sort of - I guess I was meaning the whole advertising angle would have been slightly different....what would generate more "buzz" than strong hints AUv3 was indeed happening.....this just seems like a "normal" Lumbeat drum app launch.

Of course, hahaha, MORE than happy to be wrong ;)

Seems right on iBassist. Release notes say AUv3 update was a year ago - only reggae drummer looks to be around that timeframe.

I think something like Super Metronome that works like a Lumbeat host with auv3 would be a fun solution.

  • just had another update on FB from the developer re pop drummer, still not so much as a hint about AUv3....until it's released, it's all guesswork I suppose sigh

    Anyone for beta testing ???

    Great, DM sent.

  • +1 for Lumbeat Drummers and looking forward to a new one. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed them, and had great experiences in conversations with the developer. Hip Hop Drummer is my guilty pleasure - just love to pop it open and play.

Hip-hop drummer is so good. Pairing that one with Indian Drummer or Mid East diner is a lot of fun.

I’ve been making jokes on the lack of AUv3, but these are already some of my favorite apps on iOS. I’ll happily get whichever ones come out even if IAA.
