Multitasking, Menu Bar, Microphone input selection on a per app basis, Local Capture, Background tasks such as exporting and opening another app etc. This is a very exciting update
The ability to resize windows and tile or overlap them onscreen practically turns the iPad into a Mac. People may not yet realize what a big change this will be for iPadOS.
The iOS ‘windows’ feature will be useful, and some of the new Mac features. I’ll be holding off though until it’s confirmed that IDAM isn’t broken, that’s critical for my usage.
I have no reason to suspect there will be any change to IDAM, but one never knows what a major update will change.

That boggles my mind. It’s so stupid they won’t allow that.
On a positive note I see we are going to get a real mouse pointer. Maybe now Cubasis or Logic will get with some real audio editing features. Otherwise I’m going to have to go back to Mac.
I had nothing but my old iPad Pro to work with for about a year a couple of years back because my iMac died. I was still able to be surprisingly productive when I had to get something done.

It gets messed up occasionally if you fail to keep both devices in sync, update-wise. Not so much an issue if you’re using devices that support (or can cope with) the latest OS, but there’s always a chance an older device may no longer connect.
I had to update an older iPad to connect with my newer Mac as IDAM stopped connecting. Didn’t want to as it’s slowed down the device.
There seems to be a whole bunch of new connectivity features in the updates, so I’ll be keeping an eye out to make sure it doesn’t mess things up.
I know it’s the developer conference but I was kinda hoping for new AirPod pros to be announced as my first gen’s are on their way out!
Still, looking forward to iOS ‘windows aero’ edition!
Incidentally, does anyone have any useful experience with cleaning AirPods? People can’t hear me properly if I use them for phone calls any more so I’m guessing there’s something in the mic(s)
I absolutely hate the liquid glass look. It reminds me of windows vista or something and honestly looks like a cheap icon set. The rest of the features look cool, dunno if they will come to my iPad mini 6 or not.

Honestly if android sorted out it's shit regarding music apps, I'd jump ship completely. Literally, the only thing I do on my iPad is music stuff now. Everything else is just better on Android (for me). In terms of real computing... well, I am a teacher, so I'm locked into Google stuff for work, and a Chromebook does just fine for that.

Apple is loosing steam more and more ... Plethora of things nobody asked fo and nobody needs .. They totally lost the AI race .. All they do is they improve emojis and make things look a slightly better .. After they totally fucked up Images app, looks they fucked it even more in iOS26 ..
Only interesting thing for me was Live Translation - that is really good and handy.
Rest just standard incremental improvements of existing features (most of them which i never used lol)
I also don't like new "liquid glass" design. Makes a kind of Windows Vista vibe to me.
Btw. i am really dislike their childish infantile emoji / characters / personas graphics they use.. looks like 20 years old Disney fairytale and feels like it is device for little kids... i mean shit like this:

I think the scalable windows feature for iOS is pretty cool, and will work nicely on my big M2. Not so enamoured with the Vista-style look and feel though, and agree the emoji stuff makes it look like a child’s toy.
iPadOS updates are attractive to me

I'm glad the time of so-called "flat design" is ending but I'm not sure I like this in particular. I guess I'll have to actually use it to know for sure.
