What’s your favourite heavenly beautiful ambient synth pad sound? How do you achieve it? What apps/Auv3s are needed?

Extra points for video recording :D

    The best I've tried for sparkling high pads was Waldorf Microwave followed by two phasers - Bleass Phaser, and RealPhase (I forgot which order I had those phasers in). The LFOs of Microwave, Bleass Phaser, and and RealPhase were key to getting the sound to evolve.

    I hit randomize in Atoms and that usually gets me started. Add a bus with some granular and reverb for underlying glitchy movement.

    Record a loop/sample of whathaveyou, load it into PaulXStretch and sloooow (stretch) it down. Find a nice comfy section to live in for a while, add various effects

    Here's a favorite preset that works especially well in the background behind the other instruments. And Continua's interface makes it easy to customize.

    It's the Deckard's Daydream 01 preset from the Continua Bladerunner Pack. You might say it has a lot of character.

    What reverb are you using on it? I guess it's external or is there a reverb inside of Continua?

    I wasn't using any external reverb here, so the reverb is coming from inside Continua as part of the preset. Externally the audio is passing through ERS Dim D, MagicDeathEyeStereo, and Fabfilter Pro-Q4.

    @brambos Monoke - using the internal pads/keyboard you can slide and do “whale’s calling out”… pump it through Fac Alteza for the blurry space sound.

    For me it is usually Sunrizer with one of Spidericemidas’ amazing presets. Always work! Sometimes with a simple hi-pass filter after to make things more airy.

    Seconding Zeeon. It’s one of the first synths I bought for the iPad, and still one of my favourites, if not my absolute favourite. Sounds great, very flexible, and among the nicest synths wrt UI/UX (in my experience, anyway).

    I really dig the Roland JD-800 / 990 preset "spacious sweep". Otherwise known as the PlayStation 1 boot up sound. It sucks that the only jd800 sounds I have are samples- but it works.

    One of my favorite sounds is to load Aparillo, go to the Brass category of presets and select the “Brassturd SB” or “BrassTard SB” patch, then run it through the default preset of FAC Alteza. Then of course use a midi controller’s mod and pitch bend wheels for example to modulate things.

    Then take it to the bank and profit! Thank me later.. 😇🥰

    I also had a few Continua standalone crashes when I took it for a spin yesterday… i also haven't used it for a while.

    It crashed for me too when loading the zip. I unzipped it and loaded one at a time, then saved into my User bank. That worked for me.
