  • Somebody brought up the idea of 'Logic Pro ONE', or similar, in another thread. I'd like them to announce that Logic PRO for both desktop and iPad would be bundled together for the same $4.99 price :)

Maybe I’m being paranoid but my battery seems to discharge a lot faster anytime there’s one of these apple events (and no I’m not hitting refresh more than usual, I couldn’t care less)

I notice that happens a lot of time when there's an iOS update download happening in the background. Since those are usually released around the same times as these announcements maybe that's what you're seeing?

  • I’ve got an older iPhone XR and battery life has always been impressive. How the new phones are even better.

  • This is going to be one big snooze-fest filled with marketing lingo, booooooooooring....
...and all the presenters look like they've taken some heavy 'substances' with fake smiles splattered all over their faces :sunglasses:

  • Oh god. This is awful.

The XR's battery life was incredible.

  • I didn't understand the appeal of the iPhone or iPad when they were first released, but now I'm a heavy user. After eight years, though, I don't see myself ever wanting an Apple Watch.

  • Love my Apple Watch. On my second one. It’s all about the integration.

  • Camera on iPhone 15 looks amazing.

Yeah, I know people enjoy it quite a bit, it's more of comment on myself. When it was released I though that in a couple of iterations I'd grow interested but it just never happened. Maybe it's because I dislike notifications in general because I'm easily distracted.

  • iPhone 15 pro looks amazing. Could be time to upgrade.

  • We've wanted usb-c in iphone for years to make it more pro for video use, now thanks to EU regulation it's happening. But I bet they didn't present it like that ;)

yeah.. fantastic.. already thinking what to sell to raise funds for Pro Max :-)

  • As predicted: the iPhone 15 Pro can take 3D photos for viewing on the Vision Pro.

I also hate notifications, but for me the watch makes them more bearable: I have the watch set to silent, so when I get an email or a text I just feel a light tap on my wrist and all I have to do is glance at the watch to see what it is. It means you don't have to pick the phone up all the time, and you can just carry on with what you were doing. So basically notifications are far less disruptive with the watch. YMMV of course.

  • They didn’t mention the mic but that’s quite a phone.

Even if you think you know... you don't really know. I hadn't worn a watch for more than 10 years, then I got an Apple Watch. They're really nice.

  • No mention of iOS17 release date but considering the new phones hit the stores on 22nd of September it should be out by then.

I suspect iPadOS will lag for yet another month just like it did when iOS16 got released and one month later we get iPadOS16.1...

  • Release date is Sept 18th, on the Apple website.

My iPhone XR is still kicking. Got it when it came out. I said it then, Apple done messed up when they made this phone. I can easily get another year out of it I think. I would rather upgrade my 2017 iPad Pro 12.9 anyway. I use it more than my phone.

Cool, so they updated the page at last :sunglasses:

  • I'm hoping someday Apple will release a new ~5.5" mini phone with more than one camera. I don't want a bigger device and I don't want to give up my 2x zoom on my XS. Guess I'll just get a battery swap instead.

  • I got excited that the titanium housing of the 15 pro might finally mean you don’t need to buy a case. I don’t think this is what it means though.

Have you taken a look at 13 mini or 12 mini? Decent 2 lens cameras on both. Would be an upgrade from XS for sure

Thanks for the reply :) The 12/13 mini have a wide angle lens as the second lens instead of a telephoto. I really don't want to give the telephoto up. But maybe it'd be worth the tradeoff.

My hatred of notifications is why I love my Apple Watch, whenever I take my watch off to charge it the constant buzz, buzz, buzz of notifications on my phone sends my blood pressure through the roof. Notifications on the watch are just the right level of enough to notice, not enough to annoy.

  • Oh, I just realised that @richardyot basically said this already.

  • @richardyot @FastGhost interesting, I do keep the notifications on my phone to a bare minimum that require close to immediate action, basically phone calls and a few reminders ("pay this bill", "cook that"), the rest are all turned off, not even emails.

@NeuM that's true, although I did eventually grew to envy my wife's iPhone which is how I ended up getting one. Her watch doesn't do it for me :P

I turn off all notifications on my watch, you don’t have to use them. Brilliant device for maps and health stuff though.

That new blue titanium iPhone looks sick.
