App for practicing chords with a check if I played the chord correctly (MIDI)

Hi, I'm looking for an application (AUv3) that would randomly show me chord from preselected scale and wait/check if I play that chord correctly on the connected MIDI keys. If so, the app would offer another random chord from the same scale.

I have no idea if this kind of app even exists, any advice would be appreciated.

  • There’s some awesome music theory based apps on iOS but I don’t know them well enough to know if they have this exact feature?

  • Never mind, I bought Tonality in the mean time and there is nice tool for chord learning by ears. At least something where I can train.

  • It might be off topic, the app Solo does this for guitar players.

Not the whole chord, but note for note. It shows a chord and then ask you to play a certain note or interval in this chord.

It is pretty boring to excersise with this but it helps you understand chord structure.

It’s not what you’re looking for but imo a great app for learning chords is IReal Pro. It’s a great practice tool and shows you chords in different voicings and helps you learn songs and chords

Different voicings are definitely worth learning, particularly on a keyboard instrument. While it’s a little more to learn, it helps enormously in the long run.
