  • Good luck chaps.

    Works Like a charm.. ....... Like a charm... :)

    (iM1) Don't forget the (i) @mgmg4871 ;-)

  • After installing the updates, I checked iM1 to see if my imported preset were still in the User cards, and the are, but... The two presets that I saved to the Library cards are gone. The weird part, though, is that the Library presets are still there in the Darwin tracks in my Gadget project.

  • About f-cking time! :D Now the big question is, how am I supposed to sleep tonight? :p

Also, if you can't see the expansions yet after updating, close Gadget, open iM1, play about in iM1, THEN open Gadget, load Darwin, and magic!

  • Worked perfectly - didn't have to restore purchases. That's me sorted for a while. Good stuff Korg

  • Hurrah !

Korg must have some 'clout' with Apple, thats the 3rd recent Gadget update they've pushed through.

  • Had to restore IAP in iM1. Happy to see this fixed so quick.

On another note: Gadget has I graphic hiccup when I click on any of the gadgets in the mixer. Before the gadget opens the mixer jumps to the left for half a second (overlapping the master section).

    See pic:
    image

This started to occur after upgrading to iOS8 (didn't happen with 7.1.2).
Only in landscape mode (portrait mode is fine).
    Anyone else seeing this?

Also having this since the pre-Darwin update. Also it lags a bit in the same process. (iOS 8.3)

  • The 'Graphic Glitch' doesn't happen on my Air 2 running iOS8.3 :)

  • Don't see it here (yet).

    Air1/8.3

  • I also have this issue on iPad4 ,latest iOS.

  • You guys could always report the glitches to the Korg Gadget forum...
    https://support.korguser.net/hc/communities/public/topics/200037165-KORG-Gadget-community

And shamelessly, if you like some of the ideas me has posted posted there give them a 'vote' :D

  • Not happening for me either (Air 2/8.3)

Haven't signed up. Certainly should do. How's the traffic over there? Friendly bunch? Good coffee?

  • @JohnnyGoodyear Not too much traffic at the moment. Sometimes a Korg Rep. comes in, checks, comments and forwards to developers.

As far as I know that forum is the only official way to get our voices heard by the 'Korg People' :D

I have an Air 2 too with no problems with IAP. Must have something to with the different CPUs in the various iPad models. I remember someone posted on here that thir favorite game was canceled because the devloper couldn't keep up with the changes in the iPad. Korg probably used the Air 2 with the A8X as the lead development platform.

  • @mkell424, I think it was Spiderweb Games and they canceled development for iOS games because of differences in iOS 8.2 and 8.3.

  • Thanks for the replies about the graphic glitch. I've reported it on Korg's forum.

  • I had no problems with gadget, Darwin, iM1 or IAPs. My gadget had auto updated, I click to add a Bilbao track and it brings up the purchase dialog! I was able to restore but oops!

  • @samu: I have just doubled the votes for most of your ideas on the Korg forum.. ;) Can't say that much is happening over there but at least there are people from Korg reading the postings.
On the other side I feel a little bad and with another thread: they aren't up to fix the basic needs of the users for months.

  • @StalkerBJ Thanks...

I just added another request for a new Gadget based on The Triton Taktile sound-engine that would complement Gadget very nicely...

As it is now the Korg Forum is the (to my knowledge) only way we can feed our ideas to Korg...

Who knows maybe Korg-Officials will sooner or later show up here in the AB forums :D

    • Longer samples

    • better FX

    • audio tracks

I need to sign up and post this every week :). Gadget needs some basics before it gets more new gadgets IMO...

  • Would be clever for any dev to show up here, because of the many ideas for apps and improvements (besides the spirit and community) . I m not aware of any other iOS music forum having so much activity.

  • @matt_fletcher_2000: right -and sample management..

As long as Gadget doesn't have a 'linear mode' AudioTracks will not happen, that's what I feel.

I do like 'patterns' but I do not like the 'scenes' where patterns need to be duplicated...

I'd rather have a 'linear mode' into which I can add patterns and virtual copies of patterns with playback options like transpose, repeat etc.

And well a 'Virtual HD-1' from Kronos could solve most 'sampling issues' add Soundfont support etc.

There is already a request for 'Insert FX' per track for Gadget at the Korg Forums...

  • They just seem like the 3 features that would let you use Gadget as an iOS daw (like a early, basic Reason or fruity loops or whatever). At the moment you have to jump through hoops or move stuff out somewhere else with big filesize implications and PITA factors.

  • As long as Gadget doesn't have the ability to sequence instruments 'outside' ('IAA Gadget' would be neat) of Gadgets the need for AudioTracks for me personally is not a show stopper but for those wanting to include live performance, singing instruments etc. it's a much needed addition.

As most of the stuff I use is 'sampled' and 'generated by other apps' I could live with a proper sampler.
Bilbao and AbuDhabi just don't cut it.

But go ahead feed Korg with as much ideas as possible, once they see traffic increase in their forum they need to act :D

  • Maybe I should add 'midi out' as a 4th 'must have'

  • I think 'Midi-Out' will most likely come if we ever get an 'Midi & IAA-Gadget'. I see no point in sending midi out from the current 'Gadgets'.

I would love to 'Freeze' IAA-Synths to Tracks in Gadget, that's for sure :D

  • Track EQ and a basic track compressor would be most welcome in my view. I think these are pre-requisites for any 'proper' DAW type music making app.
